The continued use of traditional energy sources has led to an increase in the energy crisis and environmental pollution problems.The development of new energy sources has become a development trend in all walks of life,which is particularly prominent in the automotive industry.Pure electric vehicles are noise-free and pollution-free,and are the main products of new energy vehicles.The driving motor is the power source of electric vehicles,and its various performance indicators are important factors that affect the performance of the entire vehicle.This paper focuses on the optimization design of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM)for electric vehicles,using the lightweight rainbow car independently developed by Dalian University of Technology as a prototype to study the optimization design method of PMSM structure and electromagnetic finite element Analytical method.Based on topology optimization,a new type of rotor structure design model was established.Taking into account the structural rigidity and lightweight requirements,a rotor configuration with both the required dynamic performance and lightweight was designed.The main research contents of the paper include:(1)Based on the rainbow car’s dynamic performance requirements and electric vehicle power system equations,the parameters of its power system are designed.The performance parameters of the permanent magnet synchronous motor,the reduction gear ratio parameters and the power battery parameters are determined.The dynamic performance of the vehicle after parameter design is analyzed to verify that it meets the dynamic requirements of the rainbow car.(2)Based on the performance parameters of the permanent magnet synchronous motor and the requirements of the rainbow car space limitation,the structure of the motor was designed.The ANSYS RMxprt software was used to model the permanent magnet synchronous motor,and the Maxwell software was used to perform finite element analysis on the motor performance parameters and electromagnetic field parameters.The motor performance parameters were obtained and the rationality of the motor design was verified.(3)The optimized design method of the motor structure is studied,and the parameter optimization design of the designed rainbow car PMSM is carried out.Taking the reduction of PMSM cogging torque peak as the main optimization goal,the parameter optimization method was used to optimize the design of the motor’s magnetic pole thickness and air gap length parameters.(4)A new rotor structure topology optimization model with both structural rigidity and lightweight requirements was established,and a new rotor configuration was designed.The finite element method was used to analyze and compare the performance of the motor before and after optimization.The data analysis results show that the designed new rotor configuration has the required performance,which verifies the effectiveness of the established model.
