With the rapid development of domestic cities in the past 30 to 40 years,people's requirements on ecological environment,public service facilities,urban quality and other aspects have gradually increased,and the original urban environment is hard to meet new demands.Urban outdoor space is the carrier of people's daily life,bearing people's basic living needs and more and more social functions.However,the disconnection between the real conditions and the real needs is no longer suitable for the development needs,and the urban space needs to be updated and optimized urgently.But in the old town of mountain city,it includes the diversity and complexity of urban structure caused by social spatial structure and institutional transformation after 1990 s,and also contains a due to the influence of natural environment condition and limit of regionality,which makes the general public space update method used in the old town of mountain city is not targeted.It is necessary to introduce a new perspective to reunderstand the relationship between users and physical space conditions.This article attempts take the perspective of life circle as the cut-in point,the outdoor activity space in the old town life circle of Yuzhong district,Chongqing as the research object,in view of the mountain city of the particularity of the old social spatial structure diversity and terrain conditions,explore the outdoors space quality optimization strategies and methods,in the hope of targeted to the outdoor activity space quality promotion,promote the efficient utilization of land resources in the old town city and realize the full utilization and fair sharing of public service facilities resources.In terms of research methods,this paper mainly uses literature induction to analyze the development and current situation of the research and application of life circle theory at home and abroad,and summarizes the core theory of mountain city life circle.The network analysis method of GIS system is used to analyze the accessibility of outdoor activity space of shared circle in the region.By using the location entropy method of per capita level,the equilibrium situation and existing problems of per capita space area owned by residents are analyzed.By using the PSPL method,the physical space and human activity of the outdoor activity space in the self-sufficient circle were investigated.By means of comparative analysis,the results of survey data are compared and analyzed to find the problems.In the data acquisition method,the field research data and the Internet open big data are combined.The research content mainly includes four parts.First of all,according to the mountain city life circle theory defined the scope of basic life circle and its 11 community shared life circles and 20 community self-sufficient life circles,distinguish between the layers of structure types,and through the research to comb out the basic life circle contains 4 shared space and 57 self-sufficient space,as the research basis.Secondly,based on the service relationship theory of life circle in mountain cities,the service coverage of 4 shared spaces,and the per-capita spatial area of 57 self-sufficient spaces in 20 community self-sufficient life circles were calculated from the middle view.Thirdly,according to the functional characteristics and spatial composition requirements of outdoor activity space in life circle,from the micro view,among the three types of selfsufficient circles,2 circles are selected in each type,and 32 spaces are selected in total,and the material composition,the vertical interface and surrounding conditions,the number of all-day users and the types of all-day activities were investigated and recorded respectively.Finally,according to the research results from the middle view and micro view,the objectives and principles of the quality optimization of outdoor activity space are put forward,and the corresponding optimization and transformation methods are put forward from the three aspects of space service scope,space per capita area and space utilization efficiency.The research conclusion includes three aspects:First,the research on the service relationship of space in life circle,the spatial service coverage of the shared circle in the basic life circle is not perfect,and 7 community selfsufficient life circles are completely outside the service scope;More than half of the selfsufficient circles per capita area can not reach the old town city reconstruction requirements of 0.7 square meters per capita;Each self-sufficient circle has uneven per capita level,and there is even no outdoor activity space in 3 circles with lower level;More than 80% of the surround type of self-sufficient circles have a high level of per capita area,however,more than half of the roadside type of self-sufficient circles have a relatively low per capita area.Second,in the study of the relationship between the material composition conditions and the activity demand of people in space,half of the space has low intensity of use,1/4 of the space has single activity,and the utilization rate of the existing space is unbalanced;The density of trees,the quality of pavement facilities and bottom vertical interface,and the accessibility of space mainly affect the intensity of space use;Some space facilities are mismatched,the high density of facilities and the low richness of facilities affect the composite utilization of space;Low greening rate and low aspect ratio D/H are common problems in space,but have little influence on use.Thirdly,according to the problems found in the research on the middle view and micro view,from the perspective of service scope optimization,this paper proposes the transformation strategy of optimizing the road network structure,improving walking conditions,exploring alternative space,increasing the number of space,changing the property of land use,and gradually demolishing hazards and recovering to green space;From the perspective of per capita area optimization,this paper puts forward the reconstruction strategy of transforming alternative space,improving service facilities,rereleasing fire engine access,endowing activity functions,utilizing pedestrian streets and adding urban furniture;From the perspective of utilization efficiency optimization,this paper puts forward the transformation strategy of improving material conditions,restoring original functions,reasonably allocating facilities,establishing service levels,improving connection relations,improving accessibility,paying attention to grey interface,giving play to three-dimensional advantages,balancing the density of trees,and increasing green space from first-person perspective.
