As a main visual source of pilot flight information, the flight deck display has always been an important research object in the study of human factors in the cockpit of aircraft. The head-up display(HUD)is an application platform for various new display technologies and changes fast.As for this,it is important to keep compatible with the head-down display(HDD)during flight missions. The importance of each flight information is different,by appropriately changing the information display position and character size,it is conducive to highlight the difference of information and improve the efficiency of information search.Based on the simulation platform, this paper conducts research on the effects of display layout and character ratio on the compatibility of HUD and HDD for different flight stages. The research content mainly includes the following points:(1)Interpret the cockpit human factors related to airworthiness regulations and HUD design standards, and clarify the requirements for the HUD display layout, character ratio range, and compatibility between the HUD and HDD.(2)Based on airworthiness regulations and flight training manuals, combined with simulation platforms, conduct experiments on the effects of character display layout and character ratios on the compatibility of HUD and HDD.In order to avoid the insignificant experimental results, this paper obtains data from three aspects of eye movement, performance, and subjective evaluation, which are used to evaluate the level of situational awareness and workload of the participants under different display layouts and character ratios.(3)Multivariate analysis of variance was used to statistically analyze various data. The experimental results provide a reference for the design experiment of man-machine display interface.
