Research On The Correlation Between The Connectivity Of China’s Large And Medium-sized Airports And The Urban Innovation

In the context of the new normal economy,innovation-driven development is of great significance.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China puts forward that innovation is the primary driving force for development.The construction of an innovative city is an important support for the construction of an innovative country and plays a pivotal role.In the context of the close connection of economic globalization,urban innovation is no longer "closed behind the scenes," but instead chooses to use developed transport infrastructure to open city portals,strengthen economic and trade exchanges with the outside world,actively embed global innovation networks,and absorb cross-region innovation spillovers to enhance urban innovation capabilities.This paper attempts to fill the gaps in the research on airport and urban innovation in China through theoretical and empirical analysis and research,and to provide references for future innovative city construction and airport planning management.First of all,this paper combs through literature and theoretical analysis to find that innovation activities are scattered around the world,and air transportation has a stronger spatial and temporal convergence effect than other modes of transportation.The connectivity of airports as the infrastructure of urban transportation may affect the urban innovation activities.However,the related research is relatively blank.This article attempts to fill in the gaps in the related research on airport and urban innovation in China through theoretical and empirical research,and provide reference for future innovative city construction and airport planning management.This paper defines the airport’s connectivity and urban innovation capability by defining its meaning,selecting indicators,and calculating basic data.It summarizes the rules of the impact of airports on regional economy and innovation activities in reality,and uses the central-peripheral theory and endogenous growth theory.Guided by the theory of innovation,agglomeration radiation,and logical deduction,the role of airports in urban innovation is analyzed.Then,based on the qualitative analysis,this paper uses Net Scan model to measure airport connectivity and choose index of urban innovation capabilities.IV method regression is used in the correlation analysis,including analysis of overall correlation and regional heterogeneity.On this basis,corresponding policy recommendations are made to city builders and airport authorities.This study enriches the urban innovation functions of large and medium-sized airports as high-end resource allocation platforms through data verification,and also provides new ideas for urban industrial transformation and upgrading.
