An Analysis Of Local B&B In Dali And Lijiang From The Perspective Of Semiotics

The relationship between architectural design,construction and architectural meaning has always been the basic problem of architecture.In the contemporary era,the meaning of architecture is closely linked with semiotics.The basic theory and principles of semiotics are being more applied to the study of architectural design and its meaning transmission.In recent years,with the development of experience economy,rural architecture and tourism industry,cultural tourism industry has also developed rapidly.Residence is an important part of cultural and tourist architecture,and it is a new type of architecture gestated in contemporary society.It integrates tourism accommodation,regional culture and physical and mental experience,and its architectural design often expresses an obvious meaning.Therefore,the study will study the architectural design and construction of B&B from the perspective of semiotics.Based on the theory of semiotics,the two-way analytical framework of "top-down(designer-architecture-user)and"bottom-up(user-architecture-designer)"is established.The object of study is the local B&B groups gathered in Dali and Lijiang areas of Yunnan Province.To understand the situation of nearly 50 B&B in the two places,24 B&B were investigated and visited on the spot.Eleven houses including Muyun,40 feet and Jiyisi were surveyed and modeled."Top-down" research mainly uses photographs,models and graphic analysis to illustrate the problems of prototype,Locality,construction and construction,symbolic relationship and design intention of rural residential buildings embodied in case analysis;"Bottom-up" research ranges from computer text mining of large network data to personal semantic close reading to observe users' use experience.It is found that the design of local B&B presents a design state of "inheritance"-"integration"-"mosaic";The symbolic information implied in residential buildings in different areas is the diachronic factor that restricts local B&B in this rural areas.Architectural ideas of designers,users' needs,progress brought by technological breakthroughs,current building regulations and planning control requirements are synchronic factors affecting local B&B in the region;Local B&B should respond to the needs of modernity;Residents pay most attention to the "function" of local B&B,and their perception of "meaning" is more abstract,but the abstract "meaning" of residential design comes from the Designers' multi-level design.Different geographical features integrate the ideas of different designers and are "interpreted" by different residents.Under such operation,the development of local B&B will be more vigorous.
