Research On Experience Design Of Home-inn In Dali And Lijiang Region

Dali, Lijiang, Yunnan province, an area with pleasant seasons and abundant natural and cultural tourism resources, has already developed certain scale of Experiential Tourism. Recent years, the numbers of experiential home-inns were increasing, which focus on natural experience, heritage experience, family experience and personality experience. These practices have developed certain forms and spaces of small-scale inns, and succeed in business in certain extent. However, they still need in improving the quality of experiential space in long term development.As an important supporter of experiential tourism, Home-inns have great significance in transformation of tourism mode, which deserve more attentions of the public. Thus, this dissertation tends to conclude a “design method for experience of home-inns in Dali, Lijiang areas” through literature reviews and cases studies and induction of local design characters. I hope this paper can develop a set of design strategies of experience of home-inns based on Yunnan local culture and relevance.This paper has six chapters in total:(1) Introduction. This chapter will introduce the research backgrounds, significances and frameworks of this research and focusing on concepts distinction between experiential tourism and home-inns as well as literature reviews.(2) Research foundation of converting traditional dwellings to home-inns. Firstly, this chapter will clarify the general situation of traditional dwellings in Dali,Lijiang areas, and secondly will discuss the backgrounds and mechanism of converting into home-inns, lastly will analyze the status quo of home-inns developments.(3) Experiential characters of home-inns. To construct home-inns experiential characters and to dig core elements of experience, through rooting theory and three level coding program.(4) Design research on experience of home-inns in Dali Lijiang areas. To develop design strategies for natural experience, heritage experience, family experience and personality experience, in terms of planning, citing, materials, forms and spaces, through cases studies.(5) Developing trends of experience of home-inns. To discuss what kind of improvements should be made for experience design in terms of modern technologies and epochal characters.(6) Conclusion.
