The Research On The Spacial Characteristics And Optimization Of The Mid-axis Landscape Stairway In The Relocation Of The Three Gorges Reservoir Area

Many cities have a central axis of the city.This planning method is the inheritance and continuation of the urban pattern for thousands of years.The central axis not only plays the role of leading the urban space,but also one of the best carriers of urban culture and spirit.The ancient cities of the Three Gorges Reservoir area formed the central axis of the city under the influence of the traditional concept of city building.After the Three Gorges Project,this historical space was inherited in the new city,and finally formed the central axis of the city in the form of stairs.The central axis landscape stairway is large in scale and unique in form,and is an iconic urban public space in the relocated cities of the Three Gorges Reservoir area.It not only carries the spiritual culture of the city,but also provides leisure venues for the citizens.It has great research value.However,after more than two decades of development,the city has developed and the needs of citizens have changed.so the central axis landscape staircase needs to be adjusted to suit the needs of the times.The research scope is the relocation of the Three Gorges reservoir area.Specifically study the three central axis landscape stairways of Dong Po Stairway in Zhong County,Qing Yun Street Stairway in Feng Jie County and Deng Yun Stairway in Yun Yang County.To explore the spatial characteristics and usage status of the central axis landscape staircase from the control role,internal function and micro-quality in the city.Through the comparative analysis of three stairways to find the contradiction between urban development,the needs of citizens’ lives and the current space of the central axis landscape staircase.Propose optimization strategies and methods to continue the value of the central axis landscape stairway and construct a dynamic space with regional cultural characteristics.First study the history of the central axis landscape stairway in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.It is found that its generation process is affected by the city’s construction concept,trade and transportation.Found that it has the value of continuing the urban context,constructing the landscape system,enriching the spatial pattern,and perfecting the humanistic connotation.Secondly,through the investigation and comparative analysis of the status of three typical central axis landscape stairways in the city’s control function,internal functions,and micro-quality.To discover the contradiction between the urban development’s demand for stairways,user functional needs,user micro-feeling and space.I found that the problems at the overall control level include weakening centrality,declining status,insufficient development capacity as an axis,and failure to integrate into the urban growth torrent.Problems at the internal functional level include traffic scale exceeding actual use,lack of confusion in leisure activity venues,and low-end introverted business services.Problems at the spatial quality level include single form,low interface openness,and low number of detailed facilities.Finally,based on the above research,put forward the optimization strategy.Strategies at the overall control level include improving status,clear positioning,reshaping features,and integrating culture.Strategies at the internal functional level include building safe traffic paths,innovating and upgrading formats,and comprehensively enhancing activity functions.Strategies at the spatial quality level include activating nodes,optimizing interfaces,and upgrading facilities.Taking the goddess stairway as an example,it tries to optimize the design,and proposes specific design methods for reshaping the axis positioning,functional transformation,and quality improvement.
