Titanium alloy is widely used in the aerospace field.The research on the impact resistance of titanium alloy under the impact of foreign objects has important engineering significance for the design and maintenance of aircraft components,but there are relatively few domestic and foreign systematic studies.Therefore,this paper takes TC4 titanium alloy as the research object,and uses the combination of test and simulation to study the impact resistance of TC4 titanium alloy target against high-strength metal projectiles at different impact angles.The effects of the head shape,the impact angle and the initial impact velocity of the projectile on the impact resistance of the TC4 titanium target were taken.The major works include the following parts:Firstly,the first-class light gas gun device of the Civil Aviation University of China was used to conduct a projectile target impact test,and four head-shaped projectiles were used to impact the TC4 titanium alloy target plate with a thickness of 2 mm.The high-speed camera system was used to record the impact process of the projectile.The ballistic limit velocity under the impact of different head shapes was obtained by the least square method.By analyzing the experimental phenomena,it was found that the 2mm-thick TC4 titanium alloy has the best resistance to the impact of hemispherical projectiles,followed by the oval head projectile,and the worst impact resistance of flat-head projectiles.In addition,the impact process of the target,the energy consumption of the target and the failure mode of the target were analyzed.Secondly,based on the test conditions,the JC simulation model and HM simulation model,the effectiveness verification of the four kinds of projectile impact targets was verified by using ABAQUS simulation software.By comparing the test results with each simulation model,the ballistic limit speed of the missile body and the failure mode of the target plate were obtained.The simulation model closest to the test phenomenon was selected for subsequent simulation expansion research.Thirdly,the effects of the initial impact angle of the projectile on the impact resistance of the TC4 titanium alloy were studied.The ballistic limit speed,the impact process of the target and the failure mode under different conditions were obtained.It was found thatunder different projectiles impacts of the target,the impact resistance of the target showed a ifferent trend with the increase of the impact angle of the target.
