According to recent J.D Power's research about user satisfaction Index of new cars,it was reported that more concerns about the perceived quality of the door opening/closing were paid attention to by many consumers.The closing force of an automotive door has a directly relationship with the final assessment for the quality of the automotive,and is relates to the quality of the door perceptibility.Among all the factors,the door hinge is one of the key factors affecting the closing force.Based on a comprehensive analysis on the process of the door opening and closing,the factors affecting the door closing force include: the force of the sealing joint strip,the form and axis inclination of the hinge,the door gravity,and the air resistance during the door closing and door locking operation.The door closing force is affected by so many factors that traditional measuring methods cannot obtain the data during the process closing force,and that it is difficult to control the extent of the key influence factor(door hinge)in the whole closing process.Many works have been developed on the relationship between the door hinge or the door closing force.The methods used in the works are either traditional processes to debug the door hinges with an aim to achieve the best quality or numerical predicting by calculating the closing energy using commercial simulation software.However,the real quality of the door always devoices from the predicted results because the actual situations are ignored and the contribution of the door hinge is not accurately quantified.This article uses three-dimensional software UG to establish the three-dimensional model of the door hinge tilt angle,and then it is imported into the Adams motion simulation software,using Adams own powerful calculation and analysis capabilities,analyze the five factors affecting the door closing force in the door closing process The degree of contribution,the overall energy decay curve,and the degree of contribution to quantify the inclination of the door hinge.In this paper,a door hinge inclination adjustment experiment test rig is established and the data of the whole closing process force is recorded and analyzed.The experimental method with only one variable for the angle of the door hinge is employed,and a few tests of the door closing force for the sample car door are carried out.The data collected in the whole closing process is compared with the experimental results.The results show that the influence of the door hinge on the door closing force is evaluated accurately.The influence of different door hinge inclination is quantified in order to reduce the closing force of the automotive door by means of optimizing the door hinge.In this paper,the angle of the door hinge is thoroughly studied.The relationship between the door hinge inclination and the door closing force is investigated by means of simulation analysis.The optimal angle of the door hinge angle is obtained.The simulation software Adams is used to analyze the door closing force.Comparing and analyzing the simulation results with the test results of the door hinge inclination adjustment experiment rig,it is shown that the method proposed can get the best angle of the door hinge,and can provide the design guidance for improving the quality of the door perceptibility.
