China is a country which has many quake-stricken areas.Seismic fortification work is particularly critical in high-intensity quake-stricken areas in China because it is related to the safety of people's lives and property in the area.Reinforced soil structure has been widely used in traffic engineering in foreign earthquake-prone areas due to its superior seismic performance which has achieved good results.This paper conducts the following research on the country's first new railway reinforced earth retaining wall(composite panel reinforced earth retaining wall)located in a high-intensity earthquake zone:(1)The structural characteristics of the reinforced soil retaining wall are briefly introduced in this paper.The stability calculation methods of the reinforced soil retaining wall are summarized.The stability analysis of the rigid panel reinforced soil retaining wall under seismic load is also analyzed.(2)Based on the experimental section of the new reinforced soil retaining wall of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway in the high-intensity earthquake area,field experiments were conducted.Earth pressure,reinforcement strain,retaining wall settlement and wall compression and panel horizontal displacement of the composite panel reinforced earth retaining wall and integral panel reinforced earth retaining wall are monitored by the embedded monitoring unit.Summarize the data analysis and change rules during the construction period and after the earthquake.(3)Taking the engineering example of the new reinforced soil retaining wall of the railway in the high-intensity earthquake area as a template,the combined panel reinforced soil retaining wall model was established by Plaxis software,and the modular reinforced soil retaining wall model was established.Perform numerical simulation research during the construction period.During the construction period,the measured values of the parameters of the composite panel reinforced earth retaining wall are similar to the simulated values,which verifies the reliability of the numerical simulation.(4)Using the power module of the Plaxis software to study the seismic performance of the combined panel reinforced soil retaining wall and the modular panel reinforced soil retaining wall,it is concluded that the reinforced soil structure has excellent seismic performance.The new combined wall panel has greater rigidity,the seismic wave has a smaller magnification on the panel,and the seismic performance is better than the modular panel reinforced earth retaining wall.The seismic performance of the combined panel reinforced earth retaining wall meets the seismic fortification requirements of high-intensity earthquake areas,and is suitable for popularization and use in high-intensity earthquake areas.
