| With the rapid development of urbanization in China, the speed of urban construction has shown an unprecedented development trend. However,in the construction of new cities in China, the development model oriented by motor vehicles has led to the phenomenon of wide streets and streets in urban construction, which has greatly affected the construction of pedestrian space in cities. In addition, with the deepening of the aging situation in China, the contradiction between the daily walking needs of the elderly and the characteristics of the built environment of the city continues to deepen. The residential area is not only the basic unit of the built environment of the city, but also the main place for the daily activities of the elderly. Therefore,in the context of a motorized urban construction model and an aging society,it is of great significance to explore the need for the built environment of residential areas for the elderly to travel on foot. This paper reviews the environmental behavior,Lewin metal of behavior, characteristics and needs of the elderly, and lays a theoretical foundation for studying the impact of the built environment of the residential area and the daily walking of the elderly. Then, starting from the physical, psychological, social characteristics, daily walking activities and other aspects of the elderly’s needs for the built environment.Further explain the built-in environment connotation of the elderly walking, and summarize it into five characteristics of built-up environment: proximity, convenience, safety, comfort, and pleasure,so as to build a built-up environment index system.Secondly, through the questionnaire survey, interviews and other methods to record and analyze the characteristics of the built environment of the selected sample settlements, information and behavior characteristics of the elderly. Then, the correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression models were used in order to screen out the built-up environment variables that affected the elderly’s walking trips. The key factors are extracted based on the change value of pseudo R2,and the land use mixing degree, road connectivity, road network density, motor vehicle speed, road evenness, night lighting, walking path width, seat setting, square design,street-side Visuallandscape, etc.,has a significant impact on walking for the elderly. Finally, based on the empirical research of three sample settlements in Daoli District of Harbin City and drawing on other relevant research results. From the aspects of proximity, convenience, safety, comfort, pleasure and residential operation management, the residential environment optimization strategy is proposed. It is hoped to provide some reference and practical guidance for the research in related fields and the future construction of residential areas in suitable ageing. |
