This paper starts from the perspective of climate adaptation and environmental regulation of buildings,and takes climate region of hot summer and winter cold,climate region of hot summer and warm winter region as research scope.The paper focuses on the analysis of changes in building types and morphological characteristics during the evolution of regional climate.In the process of climate regulation adaptation and environment regulation,thermodynamic mechanism of architecture is the principle of “strengthen or inhibit” the role of multiple physical environments(including light,wind,heat and humidity).It is also the energy conversion law that architecture follows in the process of construction,while facing the external environment system..The thermodynamic model of architecture is an analytical model which abstractly and comprehensively reflects the thermodynamic mechanism in the regional climate environment.The model is type-inductive,morphology-visible and analytical in quantitative operations.The paper elaborates the basic theory of the regulation of building climate environment,including human thermal comfort theory,climate type and characteristics,etc.Then it lists the typical architecture type for climate adaptability in two regions.The Huizhou courtyard residence in climate region of hot summer and winter cold and the Quanzhou tubular residence in climate region of hot summer and warm winter are selected as the typical courtyard traditional residence for specific quantitative analysis.The analysis of thermodynamic mechanism is carried out from five parts: environmental climate choice,physical space type,spatial climate organization,building envelope,material and construcion.The paper analyzes and summarizes the important morphological elements of each part,and supplements them with performance simulation..At last,it outlines the architectural thermodynamic model in both two regions.
