The Evolution Of Street Space

The improvement of the urban street space environment and the establishment of urban characteristics are an important manifestation of building national self-confidence and cultural self-confidence.The street space is the "skeleton" of the city,the neighborhood relations and commercial formats in the old city are the "blood" in the city.The organic renewal of alley space is the "good medicine" for the rebirth of the city.Nowadays,the renovation of the alley space is no longer simply the protection of the block,but the combination of urban development,the characteristic image of the city,and the functional requirements.Evolutionary development is a concentrated expression of the development process of each city.In this paper,through the investigation and research on the evolution of street space,using domestic and foreign urban renewal theory and practical development,combing the renewal evolution of Jinan city and the distribution of urban road system,the typical street space of Jinan old city is selected for field investigation and in-depth summary.The structural characteristics,spatial elements and spatial forms of typical streets and lanes before and after reconstruction in Jinan were investigated,and the environmental problems of streets before and after transformation were summarized.Questionnaires were conducted on the spatial patterns and utilization status after transformation.Excavate the street space evolution mechanism and space renewal strategy that are suitable for Jinan ’s regional cultural characteristics and meet people ’s living needs,and apply it to the renewal and reconstruction practice of Jinan old city street space.It is hoped that through the research in this article,we can provide suggestions for the practice of the renovation and transformation of the streets in the old city of Jinan.
