Shanghai Changning District Pocket Park Design Research

With the rapid development of the national economy,there has been a large increase in urban buildings,and less and less land has been used to build large-scale parks in cities.Therefore,pocket parks were created in such an environment.Pocket Park has become an important place for citizens to relax in the "short time,short distance".As a new form of city park,Pocket Park has the characteristics of diverse site selection,flexible area,good accessibility,and high coverage.Enriching the urban landscape,improving the ecological environment,and providing social space functions can not only improve the quality of the urban environment,but also become a window to showcase urban creativity.However,in recent years,as the city increasingly pays attention to the construction of the absolute number of green spaces,although the number of parks is large,the lack of cultural characteristics and lack of humane research cannot meet the needs of people’s daily lives.Taking the improvement design practice of pocket parks in Changning District of Shanghai as a research object,this paper explores the general design methods for solving the problems of pocket parks in Changning District.According to the preliminary investigation,there are six main problems: insufficient outdoor recreation space,a high degree of closedness to the park,outdated maintenance and management of park facilities,and the natural layout of the park.Characteristic,lack of hierarchy and system of open space,lack of rest,signage and lighting facilities.Aiming at the existing problems of the pocket park,taking the cultural characteristics of Changning District as the starting point,and combining domestic and foreign experts andscholars to analyze the relevant research and excellent cases of the pocket park,and then to further summarize and summarize the pocket park’s improved design methods with urban cultural characteristics.The improvement design follows a systematic and scientific design thinking.The pocket park and the overall environment are considered as a system.The social and ecological functions of the pocket park are considered.By asking questions,the necessity and significance of improving the design of the pocket park in Changning District is clarified.In terms of analysis,by introducing an interactive "public participation" design,the feasibility and necessity of improving the design of the pocket park are further clarified,and the main points and contents of improving the design of the pocket park in Changning District are pointed out.After researching the actual problems and the methods of solving the problems,it is considered that six aspects of public facilities,plants,road paving,marginal space,landscape sketches and cultural elements are the basic elements for improving design measures of Changning District Pocket Park,and grasp these six elements.,Can improve the characteristic design of Changning District Pocket Park;can find new ideas and new methods suitable for Changning District Pocket Park.By combining the research on the actual project of Xianxia Park in Changning District,the general design rule of pocket parks has been achieved.
