The power grid structure is becoming increasingly complex,and the centralized control of the power system cannot meet the reliability and stability of the grid power supply,and power grid fault sometimes occurs.With the development of artificial intelligence,distributed problems can be effectively solved by multi-Agent system.Therefore Agent technology can be applied to the power system to make the system operated stably and reliably,which is belong to distributed structure.This paper mainly designs and implements Agent technology on substation based on IEC61850 standard.Firstly,the structure,information model and communication service of substation specified by IEC61850 is explained,and the attribute characteristics of Agent,the structure and communication mode of MAS are introduced.And this paper theoretically analyzes the application of Agent technology can be used to solve the communication object conflicts,when the system communication is based on the IEC61850.Besides that,the IED device can achieve its autonomy characteristics as an Agent and the some algorithms can be used to coordinate the Agent system to solve complex problems.Then,according to the IEC61850 standard,the information model is established for the substation,based on the rules which is followed by the relevant logical node establishment,and the communication service of the IEC61850 standard is realized.The objectives achieved by the system are analyzed,and the functions that should be realized are clarified.From the perspective of data,the conversion process of data flow in the system is analyzed,which is significant for the design of later program.Based on the JADE platform,the IED device is packaged as an Agent,and the Agent's communication method is used to transmit the encoding of the MMS service of IEC61850,and the Agent for message filtering and polling is set to avoid communication confusion.The problem of Agent's communication in different LANs is be solved and the Agent to transmit messages by means of TCP/IP is realized.Finally,in order to realize the application of Agent in relay protection,a diagnostic Agent is designed to coordinate the work of other Agents.The information on each logical node required for the operation of the Agent,such as switch status and protection settings is stored in a database,and when the fault occurs inside the Agent,the actions of the fault Agent are performed according to the protection settings directly in order to enable the characteristics of Agent autonomy.In order to reduce the power outage area,the switch status and protection action information transmitted by other Agents will be collected by the fault diagnosis Agent.Genetic algorithm is used to diagnose the faulty component to determine whether the circuit breaker is malfunctioned,and the power supply will restore through the switch opening and closing operation.
