Under the background of globalization,the continual development and innovation of technology helps people’s quantity of life earns a rapid improvement,which includes the convenience of trips or journeys in human social lives.In order to satisfy travel requirements of people,the hotel industry around the world is perfecting.Targeting different people requirements with different consumption capacity,the hotel industry has developed diverse service forms,like star hotel,chain hotel,business hotel,apartment hotel,resort hotel and homestay et cetra.Accompanied with the fiercer and fiercer competition in hotel industry,the biggest internal issue appears currently is the severe homogenization phenomenon,without a rich cultural deposits expression and an obvious character of the living space,consumers are living in an environment of aesthetic fatigue and therefore fail to generate consuming passion towards traditional hotel industry.In order to meet the requirements of people pursuing the uniqueness and culture of a hotel,boutique hotel arose.Not only does this type of hotel require the space to be reasonably arranged and to be comfortable,it is also a process to experience culture.Some delicate decorations cannot replace the overall quality of hotel culture,the presentation of hotel culture should be diversified.The metaphoricity of culture could be an effective design technique to help consumers expand the identification of space environment after understanding the known objects,while meeting the requirement of using relevant functions,features of culture can be naturally dug out and business values can be built up in smriti.Proper metaphoricity can not only bring sense pleasure to consumers,it can also produce a comfortable and warm feeling for customers during interaction experience of the space.This essay is divided into three parts:The first part is introduction part,focuses on the background,existing significance and structure of boutique hotel and its current research status.The second part analyses and studies culture,metaphoricity and hotels in detail,explains the importance of cultural metaphoricity in a boutique hotel through specific surveys and case studies.The final part summarizes the above parts and utilizes the content into practice,designing a specific boutique hotel case to verify the importance of cultural metaphoricity towards a boutique hotel.
