The "urban-rural dual structure" has long existed in China.After the reform and opening,China's economy and society developing unceasingly,and the process of urbanization is also accelerating.Small towns between cities and rural areas have developed rapidly.However,due to the lack of scientific planning and management in the construction of small towns,there are many problems that seriously hinder the healthy development of small towns.Many small towns have problems such as unreasonable planning,irregular design,and excessive building energy consumption.In recent years,with the "construction of ecological civilization" and the construction of "resource-saving and environment-friendly society" and the promotion of new-type urbanization,people have paid more and more attention to the ecological requirements of small towns.The passive technology with low energy consumption meets the above policy requirements,and it is suitable for promotion and use in small towns that lacking in building energy conservation,and it can bring greater social and economic benefits.Townhouses have always occupied a certain proportion in China's residential buildings,especially in small towns.It not only has the advantages of high utilization rate and high density of residential buildings,but also has the advantages of pleasant low-rise residential scales and convenient neighborhoods.It is a form of residence that fits well with small towns.However,narrow-depth townhouse is always lacking in natural daylighting and ventilation due to its characteristics,which leads to energy consumption problems.Therefore,how to improve the energy-saving design of small towns and towns in small towns has become more important.From the perspective of architecture,this paper analyzes and sorts out the specific characteristics of the narrow-depth townhouses in small towns in northern Hunan,as well as the current energy-saving technologies and energy consumption.Secondly,the general strategy of passive energy-saving design is summarized by the comparison and analysis of typical passive energy-saving cases at home and abroad.Then combined with the climatic conditions and topographical features of the northern Hunan,the passive energy-saving design principles applicable to the area are proposed,and the specific energy-saving design strategies are detailed from the aspects of site layout,building space design and building structure design.Finally,through the simulation verification of the design practice of personal participation,the effectiveness of the above energy-saving strategies and methods is analyzed,and then the energy-saving design strategies and recommendations for energy-saving design of towns and towns in small towns are summarized.
