The study of tribology, such as controlling friction, reducing wear and improving lubrication performance,is of great significance in engineering. For the experimental study of friction and wear,it is very time-consuming to explore the impact of a factor on friction and wear characteristics. However, numerical simulation can solve this problem very well by,just changing the parameter values can simulate different conditions. This paper mainly aims at using the finite element method to analyzes the influence of the oil film thickness on the friction and wear coefficient. The main work is as follows:(a)The rough profiles of the upper and lower specimen surfaces are measured;and then the W-M fractal function is used to simulate the surface topography based on the fractal geometry theory. At last, the 3D geometric models of are constructed.(b)The CEL fluid solid coupling simulation method is applied to simulate the sliding of friction pairs under mixed lubrication and the interaction force between the friction pairs during moving process is obtained. Then, the wear coefficient can be calculated by Archard's wear formula, and the friction coefficient also can be obtained including the viscosity resistance of the lubricating oil.(c)The influence of curvature radius, entrainment velocity and line load on tribological properties is analyzed. The results are as follows: 1)By increasing curvature radius, the contact width will increase and the maximum contact pressure will decrease. As a result, the contact area will be well lubricated, and friction and wear coefficient decreases.2)Changing the entrainment velocity will affect the oil film pressure distribution.More oil will flow into the contact area, with increasing of the entrainment velocity, and the results is that the friction and wear coefficient decreases.3)With the increase of line load, oil film thickness will decrease and the friction and wear coefficient will increase.
