In the deep foundation of gravity wharf,the angular stress concentration of block stone is obvious,and the pointedness crush easily,due to the use of large-scale stones and the large load of the bed itself.The accumulated angular deformation will produce settlement which cannot be ignored.However,the settlement deformation caused by angular crushing of block stone is not considered in port engineering specifications.And there is a lack of systematic study on angular contact deformation of rubble-bed rocks in previous studies.In this paper,a series of research work on angular contact deformation of rock materials is carried out by means of physical test and numerical simulation.The main contents are as follows.1.The physical tests on angular-plane contact deformation are carried out to obtain the evolution of angular crushing morphology and the relationship of load-displacement.The results show that the deformation amount is mostly produced by angular crushing,which can be divided into material yield,crack development and angular crushing according to its morphological evolution characteristics.With the increase of initial angular area,the phenomenon of stress concentration decreases and the brittleness increases.Meanwhile,the larger the initial contact area is,the larger the initial yield load is,and the larger the load is required under the same vertical displacement.2.The finite element numerical simulation of angular deformation is carried out with concrete damaged plastic constitutive model.The simulation,verified by the data from physical test,complements the process of material microstructure damage and failure during deformation.3.The influence laws of factors on the load-displacement relationship of angular deformation are analyzed,based on the mechanical properties and angular morphology Under the same load,the larger the strength and dilation angle of the material,the smaller the vertical deformation and the slower the increase rate of displacement;The smaller the residual strength and the steeper the angular slope,the larger the vertical deformation and the faster the increase rate of displacement.4.An angular deformation model is established which consider the angular contact morphology of the block in the project.The deformation characteristics of initial contact area,material strength,and angular slope are analyzed,and the load displacement formula is obtained.This paper studies the angular contact deformation of rock materials,and summarize its deformation characteristics.A load displacement calculation formula is proposed for angular deformation between blocks.
