The implementation of the national development strategy of “Emerging Engineering” has put forward new requirements for the innovative ability of engineering talents in China.It is urgent to establish a corresponding innovative ability training system for higher engineering education.However,due to historical and national conditions,China’s higher engineering education innovation ability training system has not formed its own development characteristics.There are some problems in talent innovation ability training.Under the background of Emerging Engineering construction and development,focusing on the problems existing in the current engineering education training system in China,and aiming at improving the innovative ability of Emerging Engineering talents,the innovative ability training system of Emerging Engineering education is studied in this thesis in the following aspects:Firstly,the components of innovation ability cultivation system of the Emerging Engineering is analyzed,including curriculum setting,practical teaching system,teaching method,and campus innovation culture.Based on this basis,the structure and function of the components of the cultivation system are analyzed.Secondly,through reviewing and discussing the historical evolution of China’s higher engineering education system,the current situation and existing problems of the innovation ability cultivation system from the perspective of Emerging Engineering are summarized,including that the curriculum system is slow to update;the traditional teaching paradigm is deeply rooted;lacking of an effective innovation practice platform;the culture of engineering innovation culture is weak.Thirdly,taking the three world-renowned universities in the United States,MIT,Stanford University and Olin College of Engineering,this paper analyzes the characteristics and commonalities of the three universities in the construction of engineering education innovation ability cultivation system,and presents the experience and enlightenment on the construction and development of Emerging Engineering in China,including the transformation of teaching methods based on the cultivation of students’ innovative ability,the construction of multidisciplinary cross-curricular curriculum and the construction of interdisciplinary teaching platforms.Finally,the construction path and support system for constructing the innovation ability cultivation system of Emerging Engineering education in China are given.The path of innovation ability cultivating system includes reforming curriculum and teaching content,opening up students’ knowledge horizon;perfecting innovative practice system,improving students’ innovative skills;innovating teaching methods,training students’ innovative thinking;deepening innovation culture construction and developing students’ innovative quality.The supporting system is mainly constructed from three aspects: the school-enterprise collaborative education mechanism for engineering education personnel training,the teaching quality security system for engineering education personnel training,and the international certification and professional evaluation mechanism for engineering education personnel training.
