| In recent years the China auto market growth slows down,the competition of China auto components market is becoming more and more brutal,meanwhile labor cost and materials cost inflates fast.Confrontation with the challenging market situation,Company B needs to promote management reform to improve operational efficiency and reduce the operational costs,to improve competitiveness of company B in the market.This dissertation briefly analyzes current research status of operational efficiency improvement approaches and lean production cell planning in abroad countries and China.Briefly looks backwards on the development history of Lean Production Cell Planning Model,Introduces Lean Production Cell Planning Model,analyzes characteristics and advantages of Lean Production Cell Planning Model,Summarizes the global practices of applying Lean Production Cell Planning Model on improving operational efficiency.Through studying and analyzing of operation situation of company B,we find out that the root cause for poor operational efficiency of company B is that the traditional mass production mode is not well fit to market demand characteristics today,therefor the general improvement approach is to change from mass production mode to cell production mode based on Lean Production Cell Planning Model.With the Lean Production Cell Planning Model to study and assess the operational situation of company B,detects that there are issues and gap in the area of organization culture,shop floor layout and logistic planning,production line design,Operator utilization and production process quality which are caused by existing mass production mode.Based on Lean Production Cell Planning Model,improvement plan specifically for these operational issues is worked out,and effective execution of the implementation plan is made.Through data comparison of key operational KPIs before and after the improvement,we could see great achievements of operational efficiency improvement,it proves that the cell production mode based on Lean Production Cell Planning is very effective to improve operational efficiency of Company B.The operational efficiency improvement project of company B studied in the dissertation,is based on Lean Production Cell Planning Model,work out right improvement plan which is fit to the specific company culture and operational situation of company B,it is innovative application and practical development of Lean Production Cell Planning Model,It has a solid theoretical basis and practical application scenario.Many Chinese companies are making efforts on rolling out lean production system and lean kaizen projects,but many of them are facing challenge of unfit and various challenges.The successful practices and experiences from this case,has reference value for other companies in China,who is striving for operational efficiency improvement through lean management practices. |
