In recet years, with the development of economy society, the power grid has been upgraded and transformed continuously. In order to improve the reliability and stability of power supply,as well as to save land resources, gas insulated composite appliances(GIS)have emerged at the right moment and been widely used in the transformer substations of 220 kV and above in Liaoning power grid.At the same time, the GIS equipment maintenance work is more complex, detection method is not enough, and so on.Based on the author's practical experience in the field and two typical cases of Fuxin power grid, this paper makes a systematic and in-depth study on the application of UHF partial discharge detection in GIS equipment of Fuxin power grid. The main research contents are follows:1.Summarize various discharge forms and generation mechanism, and the classification and characteristics of discharge fault of GIS equipment.2.Various GIS local discharge detection methods and their advantages and disadvantages are introduced, and the significance of studying UHF local discharge detection method is proposed and its detection principle is analyzed in depth.3.Based on the uhf detection technology at home and abroad and according to the actual situation of liaoning power grid,a set of UHF local discharge detector is developed, which can realize a series of functions such as data collection, analysis and diagnosis of partial discharge signals.4.The application of this set of detecting instrument, combining two fuxin power grid UHF partial discharge detection of actual cases, partial discharge signals from the detection, the power supply orientation, preliminary diagnosis of defect type,to the final overhaul the entire process, internal structure of insulation defect types, equipment, and other factors on the UHF partial discharge detection in detail the influence of the resolution.
