In the contemporary era of globalization,rapid digital development and modern consumerism,the development of large city art galleries has ushered in new opportunities and challenges.The concept of the operation of the museum gradually shifted from the center of objects to the center of the public.This is the meaning of the public service of l arge city art galleries as National Public welfare institutions.However,on the one hand,direct communication and communication activities between people tend to be simplified.On the other hand,in the rapid process of urbanization,the design of some large-scale cultural buildings lacks the overall thinking of the integration of cities and buildings,resulting in the inability of building space to integrate into the overall structure of cities.There are problems such as rigid spatial distribution,mixed traffic,and fragmented public space.There is a lack of foresight and arrangements for public life,and it is impossible to attract people to activities in the areas where buildings are located.The "graph" of the building and the "bottom" of urban public life lack of three-dimensional intersection and overlapping relations.On the one hand,this paper combs the rich research results of scholars at home and abroad on public nature,and defines the concept of space public nature of large city art galleries.On the other hand,the author combs the dimensions related to the planning and design process from two aspects of urban design scale and architectural design scale,which is the basis of the design process to determine the public nature of urban art galleries.On the basis of this,the author analyzes the dimension of art museum design through relevant cases,and takes the urban design as an entry point to examine the relationship between urban environment,human public life and art museum public space from a more macroscopic perspective.Based on the above analysis,this paper discusses the expression of space publicity of the new museum of Nanjing art museum in the design practice,combined with the bidding scheme of Paul·Andreu and Southeast University architectural design research institute.The thesis comprises about 82,000 characters and 200 figures.
