Considering the property of its products,complex,various and long flow sheet are adopted in nonferrous metal projects.Arduous project management task,huge information handling work,profound and lasting social influence result in large investment,long construction period,tough construction procedure and complicated influential factors.Accordingly,construction feasibility analysis is of realistic significance in consideration of accomplishing construction objectives.Construction feasibility analysis aims for achievement of project goals,and invites experienced and skilled management,operation and maintenance personnel to involve in planning,designing,procurement,construction and testing process as early as possible.Therefore,construction and maintenance knowledge can be applied in the entire process of project implementation,which leads to reduced expenditure,shortened time limit,bridged gap between designing and construction,and ultimately sustainable development of the project as a whole.Integrated application of informatization and project management theories,adoption of literature research and comparative analysis methods contributes to qualitative investigation and summarizing of construction feasibility.By means of depth and comprehensive analysis,the origination of construction feasibility issues is revealed,which is the separation of designing,procurement,construction and operation process,and consequently insufficient communication and unresponsive coordination among them.In this circumstance,BIM is introduced into the research and analysis of construction feasibility of nonferrous metal projects,which breaks the limit of traditional designing-bidding-constructing pattern and project management mode.Utilized in black mountain mining(PTY)LTD Gamsberg zinc project,Bentley software is selectively analyzed to probe into the application of BIM in construction feasibility research of decision-making,designing,procurement,construction and testing stages of nonferrous metal projects.In view of fore mentioned analysis,conclusion can be made that BIM is applicable in collecting,organizing,sharing and updating information of complicated nonferrous metal projects.Furthermore,BIM provides platform for information interaction and sharing in construction feasibility research for participants of various phases of the entire project.On this foundation,characteristics and prospect of BIM applying in construction feasibility research for nonferrous metal projects can be figured out.
