At present, the army forces of various countries in the world are changing from the traditional heavy armed forces to the modern light armed forces. As the troops need to respond quickly, the wheeled all-terrain vehicle is required to be highly mobile and adaptable. In this paper, the driving performance and traction control system of the wheeled all-terrain vehicle are studied, which can effectively improve the dynamic performance and stability of the vehicle.Firstly, the paper introduces the development of wheeled all-terrain vehicle at home and abroad, and expounds the significance of studying this topic for national defense.Secondly, through Adams/Car,the dynamic model of wheeled all-terrain vehicle is established. The dynamic model of the vehicle is mainly composed of power transmission subsystem, body subsystem, braking subsystem, suspension system, steering subsystem and tire subsystem. The construction process of the power transmission subsystem and the structure of the inter-axial torque distribution device are described in detail, and its working principle is analyzed.Thirdly, the vehicle handling stability and ride performance of the vehicle simulation test are carried out,the vehicle handling stability test mainly includes: step Angle of steering test,Angle pulse test, the sinusoidal experiment, steady turning test, portability and low speed return-to-center performance test, the ride comfort test mainly include: random rough road simulation test and pulse input road simulation test. Then, according to the national standard, the simulation results of vehicle handling stability and smoothness are analyzed and evaluated. Finally, the joint simulation environment of Adams/Car and Simulink was established, and the simulation test of wheeled all-terrain vehicle was carried out under two kinds of pavement respectively, and the test results were analyzed, which demonstrated that the traction control system designed in this paper can effectively reduce the slip rate of the driving wheel and improve the dynamic performance of the vehicle.
