Research On Urban Street Design From The Perspective Of Historical Context

As an important part of urban open space,urban street has not only its natural attributes,but also its social and cultural attributes.Urban streets not only undertake the functions of urban culture,such as people's leisure,communication and appreciation,but also play a role in protecting and extending the historical context of the city,presenting the regional characteristics of the city,and reflecting the cultural atmosphere of the city.However,with the development of social economy and the acceleration of urbanization,people's pursuit of efficiency and dependence on machinery,most of the streets are for the passage of motor vehicles,lack of attention to the psychological needs of pedestrians and the gradual loss of cultural protection and inheritance,some of the streets in the old urban areas with cultural advantages have declined naturally.Aiming at this problem,based on the existing theory,this paper takes the historical context as the starting point of street design,through the excavation of the material culture and non-material culture of the historical street,on the basis of the traditional life style of the residents,injects new cultural vitality into the traditional public space,restores the original value attribute of the lost historical street,and presents the city style with Chinese characteristics.This paper is divided into six parts.The first chapter is the introduction of the basic theory,including the research background and related concepts,so as to position the purpose and significance of this study,clarify the ideas,put forward research methods and article structure.The second chapter is the development process of historical context street design,including the theoretical research and practical cases of Chinese historical context,the current situation of Xufu Street research,the development process and case practice of western urban streets.The third chapter is the investigation of Xufu street design.The author analyzes and discusses the historical context and spatial status of Xufu street through literature analysis,observation and interview,tracking records and other methods.The fourth chapter is the design strategy of Xufu street,including the design principles,the necessity of inheriting the historical context of Xufu street and how to inherit it.The fifth chapter is the design practice of Xufu street.The sixth chapter is the conclusion part of the article,which puts forward some thoughts on the construction of urban street landscape with historical and cultural characteristics,as well as the shortcomings and prospects of the research.
