The Cellular beam has the advantages of light weight,beautiful appearance and steel saving.It can use its own holes to cross the pipeline,effectively reduce the floor height,and have good comprehensive economic benefits.It is mostly used in large-span steel structures and multi-tall steel frame structures.The semi-rigid connection can solve the problem of poor ductility and brittle failure of rigid connection.At the same time,the connection of beam and column can solve this problem better.Although a lot of research has been done on the performance of semi-rigid connections in China,there are still many deficiencies,and a lot of experimental research and theoretical analysis are needed.The existing analysis and design methods are complex,resulting in less use of semi-rigid connections in practical projects,and the relevant test data is also very limited.And the current standard only calculates the strength of the connection,not the rigidity,which makes the performance calculation of the members have errors.At the same time,there are few researches on the mechanical properties of cellular beam column connections in China.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the mechanical properties of the end plate connection of the cellular beam column joint in order to improve the design and analysis of the steel structure connection in China.In this paper,through the static test,theoretical analysis and finite element simulation,the mechanical properties of the end plate connection cellular beam column joints are studied.The main contents include:Based on the static loading test of the circular hole cellular beam column joint with different end plate thickness,the failure mode of the joint is compared and analyzed,and the mechanical properties of the joint,such as the bearing capacity,the initial rotational stiffness and the bending moment angle curve,are compared to study the failure mechanism of the cellular beam column joint.The test results show that FWLZ55-12 is better than the other two in the three test pieces,because the thin end plate is easy to cause the strength waste of other members of the joint,resulting in low initial stiffness and self bearing capacity,and easy to form local tearing phenomenon,while FWLZ60-18 has high initial rotational stiffness and poor self rotation capacity,and its own bearing capacity is similar to FWLZ55-12.The performance is better than that of the other two specimens.On the basis of experiment,theoretical analysis and finite element simulation are carried out to study the influence of opening ratio,opening edge distance and end plate thickness onthe mechanical properties of joints;By modifying the existing formula of initial rotational stiffness,a formula of initial rotational stiffness suitable for end plate connection of cellular beam column joints is proposed.The results show that with the increase of the opening ratio,the bearing capacity of the cellular beam column joint decreases;With the increase of end plate thickness,the initial rotational stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity increase.The above research results have laid a good foundation for the design and engineering application of cellular beam-column joints.
