As a method of architectural composition,“stripe” presents different spatial effects with different styles in different historical periods. At present, the layered structure order is still active in the field of architecture. However, compared with the rich practical achievements, the theoretical research lags behind, which is mainly reflected in the broad research scope and insufficient research depth.Based on the above background, this study focuses on the morphological characteristics of the architectural interface, takes the horizontal stripe of the vertical plane as the research object of form, and conducts a multi-angle study on the interpretation of the stripe and visual experience of specific architectural cases.Based on transparency theory as the clue, this paper defines two stripe forms: the phenomenon transparent form represented by Villa Stein and House Ⅱ and the physical transparent form represented by House N and Tengtou case pavilion.Taking the four buildings mentioned above as specific cases, this paper attempts to interpret their stripe and design ideas, and attempts to explain the aesthetic relation and other cultural factors behind the stripe. The study found that the four architects all pointed to the creation of "shallow space" in the laminar architectural form, which is characterized by the enhancement of the level of visual elements through the compression of the space on the front facade of the building, and the blurry spatial position of visible architectural elements. This focus on visual experience initially comes from the perspective of anti-focus perspective in paintings. In the specific process of forming, due to different cultural circles, the interface of the four buildings inevitably presents different morphological characteristics. This paper mainly focuses on the analysis of transparency and order. On the basis of theoretical analysis, this paper studies the visual experience of the interface morphology of the layered architecture by empirical method.First, through the matching questionnaire and the SD method, the author conducted a quantitative study on the sensitivity of the four architects ’ layered architectural works to the relationship between their works of art and their interface morphological characteristics. The results show that the Le Corbusier and Peter Eisenman groups have a higher degree of correlation with the works of art,and the overall evaluation of the interface morphology of the four buildings is different, but the degree of difference is not high.In addition, the eye movement experiment and semantic analysis of the four building interfaces were carried out according to the form characteristics of the layers. The results of eye movement experiments show that the lamina-strength effect of House N and Tengtou case pavilion is significantly different in terms of eye movement indexes such as total fixation time, total skip time, and skip amplitude, but shows different trends. The intensity of laminar structure has obvious influence on the distribution of fixation points. The results of semantic analysis show that the sense of level of building interface shape is directly related to the strength of the layer, while the attraction and permeability are more complex psychological feelings under the influence of multiple factors, and are not directly related to the strength of the layer. The research attempts to establish a dialogue between the theoretical study of architectural form and the experimental study of visual experience. The results hope to supplement the description of visual experience in the traditional formal theory, provide a new perspective and thinking direction for academic research, and provide some reference for the contemporary design practice of the stripe.
