Since magnetic gears can achieve non-contact transmission,compared with mechanical gears,they have the advantages of frictionlessness,maintenance-free,and overload protection.However,the rotors of the existing magnetic gears are equipped with permanent magnets.When the magnetic gears are used in the main reducer of electric vehicles and under high-speed and heavy-load working conditions,the combined effect of centrifugal force and working load may cause damage of permanent magnets.In order to solve this problem,this paper proposes a reluctance magnetic gear reducer for vehicles based on the working principle of a vernier reluctance motor.There are no permanent magnets installed on the two rotors of the proposed reluctance magnetic gear,and its structure is more rubust and more suitable for working under high-speed and heavy-load conditions.This paper first analyzes the relationship between the transmission ratio and transmission torque of the proposed automotive reluctance magnetic gear and its structural parameters through the principle of magnetic flux modulation,and uses ANSYS Maxwell finite element simulation software to analyze its magnetic flux density distribution and transmission.The transmitted torque is simulated to verify the transmission mechanism of the reluctance magnetic gear for vehicles.The parametric scanning of the structural parameters is combined to obtain the relationship between the transmission torque and the structural parameters,so as to determine the structural size parameters that can reach the maximum transmission torque.Using ANSYS Workbench to perform pre-stressed modal analysis on the two rotors,obtain the mode shapes and natural frequencies of the first six-order modes under the pre-stressed condition,determine the critical speed of the two rotors,and obtain the working range of reluctance magnetic gears.Finally,a prototype and a transmission performance test experimental platform are built.The torque-angle characteristic curve and steady-state transmission torque of the prototype are obtained through experiments,and compared with the simulation results,the effectiveness of the proposed reluctance magnetic gear for vehicles is verified.
