The experiment about mulched furrow irrigation under different irrigation supply of pumpkin was conducted in Min Le Yimin Irrigation Experiment station in Gansu during 2014 and 2015.The field cxperiments using the cullivar of pumkin 'Tianli' as the experimental materials,were conducted to elucidate the effects of different irrigation supply on the water demand regulation,yield,water use efficiency and fruit appearance of this crop respectively.The experiment was composed of four treatments and one control CK treament:45mm irrigation water was applied at seeding stage(represented as T1),45mm at seeding stage and 30mm at tendril extending stage(T2),45mm at seeding stage and 45mm at tendril extending stage(T3),45mm at seeding stage,45mm at tendril extending stage and 30mm at flowering and fruit setting stage(T4),45mm,45mm and 45mm at seeding stage,tendril extending stage and flowering and fruit setting stage,respectively(CK).The experiment studied on growth,water consumption characteristics,yield formation and the relationship between soil moisture under different irrigation amount of pumpkin.The main conclusions as following:1.The water consumption increasing with the increased irrigation amount of Pumpkin growth period,and the maximum and minimum were CK and T1,The water consumption of CK was 336,48mm and 303.07mm in the two experimental years,it was significantly high than T1?T2 and T3,by 26.38%?16,44%?10.36%(2014)and 41.91%?16.44%?10.72%(2015),respectively.The water consumption and percentage in different growth stage of pumpkin appeared the same laws as follows:First,the flowering and fruit setting stage.Second,tendril extending stage.Third,seeding stage and sowing stage,and the water consumption rate is showed that:First,tendril extending stage.Second,the flowering and fruit setting stage.Third,seeding stage and sowing stage.2.With the increasing irrigation amount in different water conditions,dry matter accumulation and dry matter accumulation rate of pumpkin was increased.The dry matter of T1,T2 and T3 were significantly reduced than CK by 62.87%,37.05%and 25.35%and T4 had no significant difference compared with CK;Therefore,the insufficient water supply in tendril extending stage and flowering and fruit setting stage made foundation matter accumulation and resulted in the yield and dry matter a serious decline.3.The fruit diameter size gradually increased with the increased of irrigation amount,the fruit diameter and longitudinal diameter was significantly(p<0.05)increased irrigated at tendril extending stage and flowering and fruit setting stage,however,different irrigation water supply had no significant effect on shape index of pumpkin.The yield of T1 was significantly lower than other treatments,which were higher than T1 by 24.59%?29.75%?23.07%and 21.20%(2014)and 39.81%?55.22%?71.85%and 74.93%(2015),respectively and T4 was no significant difference(p>0.05)with CK.It is indicated that it could increase the yield of pumpkin irrigated at tendril extending stage and flowering and fruit setting stage,and the flowering and fruit setting was the critical period of fruit growth,this period was sensitive to water,too much and too less moisture didn't benefit the increasing yield.4.The performance of water use efficiency was not consistent in two years experiment,The largest water use efficiency was T2(2014)and T4(2015)and it was significantly higher than T1 and CK by 14.80%,19.71%(2014)and 25.59%,3,37%(2015),respectively.The water use efficiency didn't reach the maximum with too much or too less irrigation water,however,the maximum water use efficiency and the maximum yield is not reached at the sam time,(5)Comprehensively consideration of various factors,in normal rainfall years,The experiment was got conclusion by two years of research that T4 treatment was the optimum irrigation program in Hexi oasis of pumpkin at furrow irrigation water supply schemes.
