Abstract/Summary:
Wheat is an important food crop in China, and its safe production is important for the development ofnational economy in China.Stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis Westend.f.sp.tritici Eriks(Pst),reduces annual yield significantly.Controlling of wheat stripe rust, with the methods of chemical control, biological control, optimization of agricultural structure, etc, plays an important role in the process of wheat production.Growing resistant cultivars is the most environmental friendly, economic and efficient approach to control this disease.Baidatou is one of wheat landraces in Gansu Province. The prelimiary study of our group showed that it had typicaladult plant stage resistance to wheat stripe rust.To identify thegenetic resistance of Baidatouat adult stage, and to map the stripe rust gene,F1,F2 and F3populationsof the cross of Baidatou with Mingxian 169,the susceptible cultivar to stripe rust, were tested in the disease nursery at adult stage. The results indicatedthat the stripe rust resistance of Baidatou was controlled by a single dominant gene(YrBdt). To map the resistance gene of YrBdt,the F3 population from the cross of Mingxian169Baidatou was selected for marker analysis.Using bulked segregant analysis(BSA),SSR and DArT markers.50 DArT markerswere linked with YrBdt.Marker 1088188 and 1095169flanked Yrbdtwith genetic distances of 0.8cM and 2.6cM,respectively.And the gene was located on wheat chromosome 6D.This study provides an important theoretical basis for molecular marker-assisted breeding of stripe rust resistance genes and clone of YrBdt.
