Effect Of Different Seed Coating Agents On Yield And Disease Resistance Of Maize

In this study,we used maize cultivar of Dafeng 30 as the research material and applied random block experimental design method to design experiment.The maize seeds were sowed after being coated with 23 different formulations of seed coating agents.Analyzing the condition of growth,main diseases and insect pests at the seedling stage and the change of yield,we planned to clear the effect of seed coating agents treatment on the maize seeds and screen out the seed coating agent with high quality formulations,which provide scientific basis and useful reference for the application and popularization of high quality seed coating agent in maize production.The results showed that:1.About 56.5%of seed coating agents made the germination speed of maize materials advance lday.The situation of reducing the emergence rate did not exist.Seed coating agents have an improved effect on emergence rate of maize,increased by 2.38%on average,of which ZYJ-5>ZYJ-8=ZYJ-23>ZYJ-4=ZYJ-15>ZYJ-18= ZYJ-20>3.0%,all of them improved significantly.2.At the growth stage of maize,26.1%of seed coating agents were useful for increasing the plant height.There were 12 seed coating agents having the function of increasing unrolled leave number,but only ZYJ-5 contributed to the increase in the number of visible leaves.There was a significant positive correlation among root number,radicle number,second layer of nodal root number and third layer of nodal root number,with the interaction effect,only ZYJ-4 was useful for increasing the total root number.About 60.9%of seed coating agents could improve the root-shoot ratio of maize significantly.3.About 47.8%of seed coating agents were useful for reducing the harm of cutworm and increasing the seedling rate at the seedling stage.Using the seed coating agents of ZYJ-11,ZYJ-16,ZYJ-20,ZYJ-21,ZYJ-23 to treat maize seeds could decrease the incidence of stem rot disease.4.The seed coating agents of ZYJ-3,ZYJ-9,ZYJ-15,ZYJ-16,ZYJ-17 and ZYJ-20 were useful for increasing the maize yield,which could reach 15000kg/hm2,the increased rate was higher than 3.0%.5.Based on the indicators on yield,growth performance and resistance of insect and disease of maize at seedling stage,there were 9 indicators better than that of CK under the treatment of ZYJ-20.We selected 6 seed coating agents,ZYJ-20,ZYJ-15,ZYJ-17,ZYJ-16,ZYJ-9 and ZYJ-3(sort by priority recommended),suitable for applying in maize production.
