In this study,a total of 69 Eucalyptus camaldulensis families belong to 11 provenance collected from three sites were studied through analyzing diameter,height volume and other growth indicators.We aimed to study the genetic variation between different families.In addition,we selected the optimum family and individual,so as to provide essential data for provenance selection,nurture,and exploitation.The main findings in this study are displayed as follows:1.The analysis of growth and adaptation of 11 provenance in 3 sites showed that height,diameter,volume of species from India were 7.11 m,7.39 cm,and 0.0159 m3,respectively,and that of species from Australia were 7.34 m,7.07 cm,and 0.0146 m3,respectively.In the early stage,height growth of species from Australia was larger than that from India,however it was opposite to the diameter growth and volume growth.The average preserve rate of species from Australia was 87.58%,which is higher than that from India,indicating species from Australia have strong adaptability than that from India.2.The preserve rate of 11 provenance was highest in Dongmen,followed by Hepu and Zhanjiang,similar to the preserve rate of each family.The main reason is the typhoon.There were serious disasters in these areas which are close to the sea in 2013-2014 with three typhoons.The volume growth more quickly in Zhanjiang,then in Beihai Hepu and Dongmen,which is relation to rainfall and temperature.3.Diameter heritability of provenance in Dongmen,Hepu,and Zhanjiang were 0.7918,0.7216,and 0.6896,respectively.Height heritability were 0.8991,0.8448,and 0.9240,respectively.Volume heritability were 0.6605,0.6872 and 0.7374.There were same tendencies in the 3 sites,namely,provenance heritability>family heritability>individual heritability.In addition,provenance and family heritability were larger than 0.65,suggesting growth traits intensity are mainly controlled by genetics.4.Using volume to analyze yielding ability and stability,we obtained provenance of KUL?AUS8 performed best and grew well in 3 sites.The provenance of AUS1 showed good results in Zhanjiang,and the provenance of DPK performed well in the three sites.5.The diameter,height and volume heritability ranged from 0.512 to 0.766,the individual heritability ranged from 0.385 to 0.721,family and individual heritability was close to 0.5,indicating that traits were controlled by moderate genetic.Through analyzing yielding ability and stability using volume of 69 families,family C18 performed best,followed by C67 and C22,showing fortissimo adaptability.Family C65 and C1 performed well in three sites.In addition,C68 and C14 are suitable for Hepu,C21,C4 and C2 are suitable for Zhanjiang.6.Seven excellent families was selected from Dongmen,the election rate was 10.14%.The average gain of D,H and V of the selected families was 22.19%,21.23%,61.97%,the number of selected excellent single plant was 30,the selection rate was 3.13%,and the average gain of D,H and was 51.22%,62.66%,and 206.93%.Five excellent families was selected from Hepu,the selection rate was 7.25%,D,H and V gain were significant,amounting to 29.32%,20.51%,71.07%,respectively.The number of selected excellent single plant was 13 the selection rate was 1.38%,and the average gain of D,H and was 40.34%,52.39%and 172.63%.Five excellent families and 10 excellent strains were selected from Zhanjiang,the excellent families election rate and genetic gain of D,H and V was 5.6%,27.68%,28.71%,74.25%,the excellent strains election rate and genetic gain of D,H and V was 1.42%,53.58%,52.14%and 187.13%.
