Zenia insignis Chun is a member of the national grade II key protection wild plants in China, which has been widely promoted for introduction and cultivation due to its strong environmental adaptability, rapid growth, wide use and high utilization value.Myllocerinus aurolineatus Voss can parasitize and hann many kinds of plants, especially tea.M.aurolineatus is a new pest on Z.insignis.The adults of this pest are harmful to leaves and affect the growth of trees.By the investigation of forest and the indoor breeding,we studied the morphology, biology, ecology characteristics of M.aurolineatus and had conducted the pathogenicity determination. The results are as follows.M.aurolineatus had one generation each year and overwintered on soil surface in larval stage in Longyan,Fujian. The overwintering larvae pupated from late March to mid-June in next year. The fastigium of pupation was in late April. The first appearance of adults was in mid-April.In mid-May,it was the peak period of emergence of adults. The final-term of adults was in early September. The first appearance of eggs was in early May.The fastigium of emergence of eggs was in mid-June.The final-term of eggs was in early August. The first appearance of larvae was in late May.The peak period of emergence of larvae was in late June. The larvae overwintered in late November.M.aurolineatus adults ate the leaves for complementary nutrition. The peak periods of feeding were 6:00-9:00 and 16:00-21:00.The average food consumption of each female was 1318.4 square millimeters and each male was 792.4 square millimeters. The average life of the mated female was 40.8 days and the unmated female was 50.1 days. The average life of the mated male was 31.0 days and the unmated male was 36.2 days. The food consumption and life of the adults vary due to the time of appearance. The adults which appeared in mid-May had the maximum food consumption and the longest life. The preferences of leaf age were the tender leaf>the mature leaf>the piper betel leaf. The females could keep alive within 5.5 days and the males could keep alive within 4.5 days without eating. The first mating of the females were between 8.0 and 12.0 days after they appeared and this process mainly took place on the leaves. The average mating frequency of the females was 20 times and the males was 13 times. The mating frequency of the females was between 4 and 8 times before the first oviposition. The first oviposition of the females were between 4.0 and 10.0 days after they first mated. The peak periods of oviposition were 6:00-9:00 and 20:00-24:00.In the condition of one female and one male, the average oviposition amount of each female was 175 grains. In the condition of one female and two males, the average oviposition amount of each female was 184 grains. In the condition of one female and three males, the average oviposition amount of each female was 201 grains. The occurrence period of M.aurolineatus was from mid-April to early September in Z.insignis forest. The peak of damage was in early May.The final stage of the adults was in early September. The aggregation index test showed that the spatial distrubtion of M.aurolineatus adults coincided with aggregation distribution and the density intensity of aggregation increased with population density. The regression model tests showed that M*=0.1823+2.7492m,logs2=0.4721+1.46471ogm,L?=0.5201+1.1361m,Z=0.4565+1.4616V.These showed that the spatial distribution of M.aurolineatus adults coincided with aggregation distribution. The correlation coefficients of four models were over 0.6,which presented that the four models werevalidate. The aggregation causation was tested by the Bliackith species group aggregation average number(?).?<2.It showed that the aggregation of M.aurolineatus adults was caused by environmental factors.Based on M*=0.1823+2.7492m,the theoretical sampling number and the sequential sampling table were upbuilt.6 species of biocontrol fungi were used to test the pathogenicity of M.aurolineatus adults. The results were BWYS>Ma1775>Ma1291-2>MaFzzL-01>Maxm-05>MaYT-04.The correct mortalities of BWYS and Ma1775 were 97.67%and 86.05%,while the cadaver rates were 97.67%and 86.67%.LT50 were 14.1 days and 17.2 days.
