Sweet corn(Zea mays L.saccharata Sturt)is a kind of fresh corn that is popular among consumers and promoted in many places in China.What's more,it has certain economic benefits.The gene mutation of the seed's endosperm makes the low seed vigor and low seedling emergence rate,severely limiting the development of sweet corn industry.Therefore,it is meaningful to explore the reasons for the low seed vigor of sweet corn seed and to choose the appropriate selection method solving this problem.This experiment measured and compared the 100-grain weight,hardness,conversion rate of the inclusion material,the seed coat thickness,and the seed damage rate in four sweet corn species containing “60”,“607”,“818”,“Jinzhongyu”,in order to explore the differences in seed vigor among the varieties caused by the genotypes.The research showed that the main reasons for the low seed vigor of sweet corn “60” were small grain weight,high oil content,and high seed damage rate,for sweet corn “818” were the high damage rate of 83.4%,for seed “Jinzhongyu” might be the lower conversion rate of seed inclusions,and for seed “607” were thin epiderm,low protein content,and high starch content.Although the initial germination rate of sweet corn “607” is high,seedling growth is weak.Through using standard germination test and anti-reversal germination test to explore the four sweet corn species,select the suitable detection methods of seed vigor into production application.The research showed that there was a significant positive correlation between the seed vigour index measured by the standard germination test and the germination rate after cold soaking treatment;membership function were used to comprehensively evaluate seed vigor of the four species in the anti-reversal germination test,but it is impossible to reflect the level of seed vigor of specific species under certain adverse circumstances.Through traditional screening,selection of sockets,specific gravity selection,color selection,neural network modeling,etc.,the selection of high-energy seeds is an effective way to improve seed vigor.The research showed that the variation coefficient of sweet corn seed density was low,the seed grain was light and the appearance was irregular,and the proportion of the proportion was not obvious to the increase of germination rate of sweet corn.The four materials were selected by the color selection machine,which showed excellent performance in the selection of sweet corn “60” and “Jinzhongyu”.The suitable selection interval of sweet corn “60” was a length less than or equal to 10.00 mm.Through selecting the seed batch in the length less than or equal to 10.00 mm,the germination rate increased by 11.2%,and the percentage of chosen seed was 20.2%.Similarly,if the seed batch was selected with the width greater than 8.50 mm,the germination rate increased by 10.6% and the percentage of chosen seed was 16.6%.According to the thickness greater than 4.80 mm,the seed batch was selected,and the germination rate increased by 10.9%,and the percentage of chosen seed was 19.8%.Because of the obvious improvement in seed germination rate,the three indexes above were the best ones electing germination rate.But high vigor seed had the low percentage of chosen seed,which could be a waste.The seed batches of sweet corn “60” were selected respectively according to the length of not more than 10.00 mm or width greater than 8.50 mm.The seed germination rate increased by 11.2% and 10.6% respectively.The seed batches of sweet corn “607” were selected according to the length more than 10.00 mm,and the germination rate increased by 1.0%,and the percentage of chosen seed was up to 85.0%.The seed batches of sweet corn “818” were respectively selected with a length of less than or equal to 10.50 mm or a thickness of less than 4.80 mm.The germination rate increased by 0.5% and 0.7%,while the percentage of chosen seed was up to 84.4% and 85.8% respectively.The seed batches were respectively selected according to the length more than 11.50 mm,width less than 8.00 mm or thickness greater than 4.80 mm.The germination rate increased by 3.1%,5.4% and 6.9% respectively,as well as the percentage of chosen seed was 54.5%,54.7% and 16.9% respectively.Using the BP neural network to select sweet corn “60”,the optimal model for single hidden layer,use 16 physical indicators,the training set and testing set sample size partition proportion set to speak when the model.After selecting the model,the germination rate could be increased by 7.5%,and the selection rate could reach 92.5%.Binary logistic regression modeling has low prediction rate and poor modeling effect.To ensure the application of high vigor seeds,it is recommended to select before seed production.The steps for the selection of sweet corn seeds are as follows.Firstly,Seed Identification(Seed shape automatic Identification)software is used to determine the appropriate selection indexes and parameters of different species before processing.After that,the processed seeds are selected by the color selection machine to remove the mildew,impurities and damaged grains in the seeds,so that the color appearance of the seeds can be uniformly consistent.Finally,the selection of long hole sieve,round hole sieve and socket selection is set in the process of processing,and the seed batches are selected by three dimensional screening process at one time.
