Study On Forest Tourism And Farmers' Livelihoods Of Yi Mountain

The strategy of rural vitalization was first raised up in reports of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it pointed that we should insist communitst party to take charge of the rural work,insist to give priority to agriculture and rural areas,insist farmers' dominant position,insist overall vitalization of rural areas,insist integrated development of urban and rural areas,insist harmony between human and nature and insist to adjust measures to local condition and act step by step.Forest tourism is rising in China now.By developing forest tourism,income of farmers around the park could be improved,which would contribute to the traditional economic transformation and upgrading and ecological civilization construction.This study discussed the relationship between livelihood assets and livelihood strategies based on forest tourism.First part was the effection from livelihood strategies to livelihood assets.Basing on the 192 farmers' data around Shandong Yi Mountain National forest park,this paper first clissified their livelihood strtegy into four strategies,which were agriculture strategy,non-agriculture strategy,tourism strategy and mixed strtegy.Second,using sustainable livelihoods framework to build sustainable livelihood evaluation index system,then using AHP to ensure the index weight and calculate the five livelihood assets.Second part was reaction from livelihood assets to livelihood strategies.Using logistic regression model to analyse the effect from farmers' livelihood assets to livelihood strategy.The result showed that: in terms of the farmers around Shandong Yi Mountain National forest park,the highest asset was human capital(the number was 0.435),the second highest was financial capital(the number was 0.365),the third one was physical capital(the number was 0.316),and the lowest was social and natural capital(the number was 0.311 and 0.271).In the case of other conditions remaining unchanged,human capital,financial capital and social capital had positive influence to the tourism strategy and natural capital and physical capital had inactive influence.When financial capital increased one unit,the odds ratio of choosing other strategies and tourism strategy reduced 0.067 times;and when social capital increased one unit,the odds ratio reduced 0.226 times.Based on the empirical analysis results this paper raised strategies and measures to improve the livelihood assets and diversify the livelihood strategies.According to the result,this paper put forword several advice as follows: first,government should help and lead people to achieve livelihood diversification to cope with fragile background.Primary and secondary school education,and spiritual civilization construction should be strengthed.For the elder and unhealthey people,government should give them more help.More activeities should be organized.Second,local area was short of social capital and community organization.Villiagers were also inactive to take part.Government should encourage villiagers to establish community organizations and take part actively.And financial capital should also be improved.By providing financial support and credit channels arouse people's enthusiasm.Third,government should strengthen advocation.Scenic area should increase some entaintament recreational facilities to attract more tourists,which could moblize local tourism development and improve people's livelihood assets.Local government should highlight their features and culture and build a special brand.Four,villigers themselves should improve infrastructure construction and service.
