Study On Germplasm Characteristics And BMP6 Gene Polymorphism In Jinzhai Black Chicken

Jinzhai Black Chicken is a local chicken group newly discovered in Anhui Province and formed under the unique ecological environment and cultural background of Dabie Mountain.Body of Jinzhai black chicken was all covered by black feathers,appearance、compact meat and delicious taste of Jinzhai black chicken is characteristics in Anhui local chicken genetic resource,but the research on its breed characteristics rarely reported.This paper studied the basic Breed characteristics of Jinzhai black chicken’s appearance,growth and development,reproduction,and meat production,and analyzed the polymorphism of the BMP6 gene in the population to provide the basic reference material for the development and breeding of the Jinzhai black chicken.The test results are as follows:The growth,egg production,body size and slaughtering traits of Jinzhai black chicken cocks and hens were measured.The crown type of Jinzhai black chicken mainly consist of single crown,rose crown and other crown types,the single crown is 24% of all the individuals;The average weight of Jinzhai black chicken cock in 300 days was 2632 ± 245g;and the average weight of the hen was 2094 ± 223g;the average opening age was 159 days and the average egg weight was 48.4g;the average egg production of 340 days was 72.36;the slaughter rate of cocks was 0.898;the slaughter rate of hens was 0.916.PCR-RFLP was used to detect the SNPs of BMP6 gene.The results showed that there was a polymorphic site,ie,A76150 G,on the exon1 of the BMP6 gene,and the amino acid of His → Arg was changed.The locus was highly polymorphic and the genotype distribution was in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium(P> 0.05).Correlation analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between body weight and A76150 G polymorphism in Jinzhai black chicken cocks,and there was consistency in body weight differences among all age groups.There was no significant difference in the hens’ genotypes at each age,and the weight differences were consistent across all ages.In summary,BMP6 gene A76150 G can be used as a reliable molecular marker for the growth performance of Jinzhai black chicken.Jinzhai black chicken is goodbreed for meat and egg.BMP6 gene A76150 G can be used as a reference for the breeding of Jinzhai black chicken.
