Effect Of Shenlingbaizhu Powder On Inflammatory Factors In Rat Ulcerative Colitis Model

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic non-specific inflammatory disease of the colon and rectum.The lesions are located in the colon and rectum,with long duration,difficult to cure,and often repeated attacks.UC is a widespread bowel disease in animal production.Clinically,abdominal pain,diarrhea,tenesmus,and soft stools are the main symptoms.At present,the treatment of ulcerative colitis mainly focuses on antibiotic treatment and fluid replacement therapy in China.Because of its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties,the prescription of “Shenlingbaizhu” in Welfare Pharmacy is considered to be an effective drug for UC.This experiment explored and compared the result of TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-4,IL-8,and IL-10,IL-18,IL-33,NLRP1,physiological data and related clinical symptoms of rat ulcerative colitis model to compared the treatment effect of Shenlingbaizhu and Mesalamine.46 experimental rats were divided into four group:SLBZ group,Mesalamine group,blank model group and blank control group.SLBZ group,Mesalamine group and blank model group were made with 3% DSS solution for 7 days.In the model group,the rats in the SLBZ group were treated with SLBZ for 7 days.The rats in the Mesalamine group were treated with Mesalamine for 7 days.All rats collected blood samples on 14 day and tested indicators.The results showed that after 7 days of modeling,the rats in the model group showed obvious symptoms of intestinal inflammation.Physiological indicators predicted the success of UC model.There was a significant difference from the blank group(P <0.05).After 7 days of treatment,compared with the model group,the symptoms of enteritis in the SLBZ group and the Mesalazine group were significantly improved,reflecting the reduction of inflammatory factors,the improvement of mental state,and weight gain.IL-1,WBC,RBC,and TP are significant differences between the model group(P <0.05).The effect of SLBZ Powder is better than the mesalazine,but there is no significant difference between them(P>0.05).State of Tissue damage: From the pathological tissue section,after 7 days of modeling,there were obvious inflammatory reactions in the tissue of the modeling group,inflammatory cell infiltration,epithelial cell necrosis and shedding.After 7 days of treatment,the pathological tissue sections of SLBZ group and the mesalazine group showed obvious relief,and SLBZ group rats basically returned to normal,and the mesalazine group rats still had slight inflammatory infiltration.In this study,we investigated whether Shenlingbaizhu Powder can improve ulcerative colitis by altering inflammatory factor levels and inflammasome levels.We found that Shenlingbaizhu powder significantly inhibits colitis,Reduce symptom from UC of weight loss,disease activity index,colon shortening,tissue damage and inflammatory cytokines.Have a significant effect for the relief of UC symptoms.
