The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of honeysuckle, blueberry and grape seed extract on performance, egg quality, lipid metabolism and immunity of laying hens. The data will provide a theoretical basis for applying plant extracts in poultry production. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of honeysuckle, blueberry and grape seed extract on performance, egg quality, lipid metabolism and immunity of laying hens. The data will provide a theoretical basis for applying plant extracts in poultry production.Experiment 1: Six hundred Jingfen hens aged 34 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups whose diets were supplemented with 0(control),100,200,300 mg/kg honeysuckle extract, respectively. Each group had 5 replicates with 30 hens per replicate. The experiment lasted 35 days. The results showed:1)Compared with control,300 mg/kg of honeysuckle extract significantly increased average egg weight and average daily feed intake(P<0.05).In experimental group, laying rate, the ratio of feed to egg and egg breaking rate had no significant difference(P>0.05).2)Compared with control group, supplementation of honeysuckle extract significantly increased Haugh unit and significantly reduced the crude fat content of egg yolk(P<0.05).Compared with control group,200 and 300 mg/kg of honeysuckle extract significantly decreased cholesterol and TG in yolk(P<0.05),and each test group significantly increased the zinc content of eggs(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the levels of TG,TC,LDL / HDL in the serum of the test groups were significantly decreased(P<0.05).Adding 200 and 300 mg/kg honeysuckle extract significantly increased serum HDL-C levels and significantly decreased VLDL-C and E2(P<0.05).The addition of 300 mg/kg honeysuckle extract significantly decreased serum levels of apo-B and INS and significantly increased the levels of bile acids in feces(P<0.05).4)Compared with the control group, each test group significantly increased the levels of IgA and SOD in the serum(P<0.05).300 mg/kg can significantly increase the serum IgG levels(P<0.05).Adding 200 and 300 mg/kg honeysuckle extract significantly GSH-Px in serum(P<0.05).In summary, under the conditions of this test the effect of 300 mg/kg is the most obvious.,higher levels of additional impact on the production of laying hens need further study.Experiment 2: Six hundred Jingfen hens aged 34 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups whose diets were supplemented with 0(control),100,200,300 mg/kg blueberry extract, respectively. Each group had 5 replicates with 30 hens per replicate. The experiment lasted 35 days. The results showed:1)Compared with the control group, there was no significant difference in egg laying rate, average daily feed intake, egg ratio and egg breaking rate in all experimental groups(P>0.05).Adding 300 mg/kg blueberry extract significantly increased average egg weight(P<0.05).2)Each test group could significantly increase the egg protein height and Haugh unit, and significantly reduce the crude fat and cholesterol content of egg yolk(P<0.05).The addition of 200 and 300 mg/kg blueberry extract significantly reduced triglyceride content in the yolk(P<0.05).The content of Cu in 300 mg/kg group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).3)Compared with the control group,TG in serum of each group was significantly decreased(P<0.05).The addition of 200 and 300 mg/kg blueberry extract significantly reduced TC,LDL / HDL levels in serum and significantly increased fecal bile acid levels(P<0.05).200 mg/kg group can significantly reduce the serum LDL-C and VLDL-C content(P<0.05).300 mg/kg significantly decreased serum INS levels(P<0.05).To sum up,under the conditions of this experiment, adding 200 mg/kg blueberry extract is the best.Experiment 3: Six hundred Jingfen hens aged 34 weeks were randomly divided into 4 groups whose diets were supplemented with 0(control),100,200,300 mg/kg grape seed extract, respectively. Each group had 5 replicates with 30 hens per replicate. The experiment lasted 35 days. The results showed:1)The addition of grape seed extract has no adverse effects on the performance of laying hens.2)Each test group could significantly increase the egg protein height and Haugh unit, and significantly increase egg white water content(P<0.05).The egg shell strength and egg white protein content in the 100 mg/kg group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The egg yolk cholesterol content of 300 mg/kg group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The test group significantly reduced the color of egg yolk(P<0.05).3)Grape seed extract had no significant effect on TG,HDL-C,LDL / HDL,apo-B,INS,GC in serum and fecal bile acids and neutral steroid content(P>0.05).The content of TC in serum of 300 mg/kg group was significantly lower than that of control group(P<0.05).100 and 300 mg/kg group can significantly reduce the serum LDL-C content(P<0.05).The levels of VLDL-C and E2 in serum were significantly decreased in group 200 and 300 mg/kg(P<0.05).4)The serum levels of IgG and SOD were significantly increased in all groups(P<0.05).The level of IgA in the 300 mg/kg group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).In conclusion, grape seed extract can improve the lipid metabolism and improve the immunity of laying hens, but it will have adverse effects on the yolk color.
