Bactrocera cucuribitae(Coquillett),an important agricultural pest,is harmful to fruits,vegetables and other crops,especially cucurbitaceae and solanaceae crops,and affects farmers' economic incomeseriously.This experiment mainly used gas chromatography and mass spectrometer to analyze the volatile components of typical host plants of musca melon,and determined its influence on the olfactory behavior and egg-laying behavior of musca melon,which could provide theoretical basis for the development of attractants of plant origin and biological control of B.cucuribitae.The results were as follows:1)The induce of 7 kinds cucurbitaceae flesh could cause significant attraction to both male and female adults of B.cucuribitae,and the cucumber showed the best effect in this experiment.The order of attraction in turns was:cucumber>pumpkin>bitter gourd>zucchini>watermelon>towel gourd>winter melon.But the females and unmated adults were more susceptible to the influence of taste source.2)When the plant without peel,the B.cucuribitae could lay eggs on all 7 kinds of plants.The order was that:winter melon>pumpkin>cucumber>zucchini>towel gourd>watermelon>bitter gourd.There was significantly higher than other plants of spawning in winter melon,it was 461.80145.52,and there was no significant difference in oviposition on pumpkin and cucumber.But there was nothing eggs on winter melon,watermelon and pumpkin which were without peel,and the egg laying amount on the other 4 cucurbitaceae plants was successively:cucumber>zucchini>bitter gourd>towel gourd,and there was no significant difference between bitter gourd and towel gourd.3)In this experiment,7 kinds of gourd fruits,including pumpkin,towel gourd,cucumber,watermelon,winter gourd,zucchini and cucumber,were tested by mass spectrometer using gas phase correlation.The results showed that aldehyde and alcohol were the main components of all fruit volatile substances.Not only were there many kinds but also the content was high.But the Alkanes,Olefins,alkynes,ketones,ethers,esters and acids were relatively small.And some host plants also contain very small amounts of benzene,sulfide,and heterocyclic substances.
