With the rapid development of small animal clinical diagnostic techniques, the diagnosis of canine central nervous system(CNS)diseases has been paid more and more attention by veterinarians.Among them,MRI,a diagnostic technique for assisting CNS diseases,is particularly important.Due to the late application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)technology in China, most veterinarians do not understand its role in the diagnosis of canine CNS diseases.First,we scanned the CNS of 4 healthy Beagles and made the MRI anatomical annotation map of the CNS of the healthy canines. At the same time,87 diseased canine cases were collected and analyzed from December 2016 to December 2017 in Shanghai Ruipeng Pet Hospital, and 22 of them were initially diagnosed as abnormal CNS.The sequence and parameters of MRI for CNS diseases in canines were obtained, and 3 of them were randomly selected for further verification.Combined with neurological examination and VITAMIN-D disease classification method, the location of the lesion was determined, the type of lesion was judged, and a more accurate diagnosis of MRI was made. The results are as follows: by scanning the CNS of healthy Beagles,we made 32 MRI anatomical maps of encephalic regions, spinal cords and ventricles of healthy canines. The parameters of MRI scan in canines with abnormal CNS were obtained by analyzing the clinical cases: T1 weighted image(T1WI),TR=300,TE=14.T2 weighted image(T2WI): TR=3000,TE=140.Stimulation times(NEX): 3-5 times.Layer thickness / layer spacing(THK): 4.0mm / 0.4mm.Field of view(FOV): 200 ×(200 × 10%)(head)and 180 ×(180 × 10%)(vertebral body). It was found that the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)is low in MRI scanning. It was found through clinical practice that the increase of TR,NEX,THK or FOV could improve the SNR,but the scanning time will be prolonged while these parameters are improved. Therefore,it is necessary to select and adjust according to the actual situation of diseased canines in clinical applications. The anatomical labeling map of MRI and the sequence and parameters of MRI scans of diseased canines laid a theoretical foundation for the diagnosis of canine CNS diseases with MRI technology and provide clinical research data.
