China is chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum morifolium)germplasm resources center,with diverse cultivars and rich germplasm resources.Excellent cultivation measures can significantly improve the quality of chrysanthemum,but most of the current production techniques,such as cutting rooting and planting,are based on experience,lacks single standard,restricting the quality of chrysanthemum production.Therefore,this study firstly selected 'Jinba'?'Nannong huanglongyu' and 'Nannong taodian' as test materials to study the effects of temperature on the rooting and seedling quality of cut chrysanthemum,which can provide reference for the efficient breeding of cut chrysanthemum.In addition,the effects of planting density on cut chrysanthemum quality and yield were studied by Spray cut chrysanthemum:'Nannong libai' and 'Nannong fenyan',and Satini cut chrysannthemum:'Nannong hongdiandian'?'Nanong taodian' and 'Nanong dianying' as test materials.The aim was to screen out the suitable planting density for different varieties cut chrysanthemum and provide theoretical guidance for the quality and efficient production of cut chrysanthemum.The main findings are as follows:1.The temperature has a significant effect on the rooting and seedling quality of'Jinba'?'Nannong huanglongyu' and 'Nannong taodian'.The quality of cuttings of three varieties which were under 30/25?(light/dark)and 35/30? was obviously better than that of 40/35??25/20??20/15??15/10? and 10/5?.Under 40/35? treatment,the cutting seedlings' leaves were yellow?rooting were short and less,some even dead;the cuttings which were in 10/5? have not rooted.The three varieties of rooting rate were 100%in 35/30?,while the 'Jinba'?'Nannong huanglongyu' and 'Nannong taodian'rooting rate were respective 96.0±0.6%?95.3±0.3%and 92.0±0.3%in 30/25?.The results showed that the optimum temperature for cutting cuttings was 35/30?.2.The planting density has a clear influence on the quality and yield of cut chrysanthemum.It was found that with the increase of planting density,the height of cut chrysanthemum increased,the internode lengths were longer,that is,plant height and internode length were proportional to the planting density;The fresh weight of the cut chrysanthemum was lighter,the stem was thinner,the number of branches became smaller,the petiole angle and branching angle were smaller,the chlorophyll content was less and the yield was less,all of which are inversely proportional to the planting density;The number of plant nodes and leaves were not affected by the density;The size of flower diameter is different from Spray cut chrysanthemum and Satini cut chrysanthemum:The size of flower diameter of Spray cut chrysanthemum is larger with the density becoming larger;the size of flower diameter of the Satini is not affected by the density.Considering the yield and quality factors,suitable density for the Spray cut chrysanthemum is 110 plants·m2,and suitable density for Satini cut chrysanthemum is 165 plants·m-2.
