Since the Opium war,one side the Chinese traditional agriculturewas in trouble,animal infectious disease prevalence.On the other hand,after the morden eterinary scienceintroduction from West,China started it’s agricultural modernizationslowly.In this background,how did Chinese owen eterinary science developed was an important social problem.Chinese progressive intellectuals at that time,they studied abroad education and science system,gradually explored the Chinese modern veterinary education which fitted Chinese situation,and got a series ofresearch findings.Luo Qingsheng,was born in April 4,1898,at Guangdong Province Nanhai County.He graduated from the University of Qing Hua at 1919,then studying eterinary science in the kansas state university.He got Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1923,then he came back to China and was appointed professor at Southeast University.He served as professor and Dean of the agricultural college in National Central University.After the founding of the people’s Republic of China in 1949,he was appointed as professor,Dean and vice president of Nanjing University and Nanjing agricultural college.during his whole life.He is Chinese famous veterinarians,agricultural educators,and also one of the founders of China’s modern veterinary education and animal infectious diseases.He made great achievements at eterinary scienceresearch,theory of animal infectious diseases,and cultivate a large number of talents of eterinary science.Luo Qingsheng’ seducation career reflected intellectuals of the time constantly improve themselves and exploring the development of discipline to build major national science and technology.Luo Qingsheng has been engaged in veterinary education for more than 50 years,he made special research results in rinderpest,swine fever,swine enzootic pneumonia,duck plague and a series of prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.He knows the importance of training veterinary talents and attach great importance to clinical diagnosis and treatment.He pointed out that the professional knowledge of veterinary workers should be wider,once the work needs to change,should be able to adapt immediately.He asked all clinical teachers should go to the hospital for treatment and be treated.In his education career,Luo Qingsheng attach great importance to theory and Practice and used achievements in scientific research and experience in production practice to improve the quality of classroom instruction;He attached importance to teacher training,good at using various methods to train young teachers,then his assistant benefits from him all the life;IIe attached importance to the construction of teaching materials,took particular attention to wrote textbooks which was more in line with the actual situation in China.His "Three attention" thought had a profound influence.Luo Qingsheng engaged in education and scientific research for more than fifty years,he cultivated a number of well-known scholars in the field of veterinary medicine and outstanding agricultural researchers for our country.He is the founder of infectious disease in China,also one of the representative of this generation of scientists.His experience and achievements had particularly important role for the development of modern veterinary education in China.
