Combinations Of Potted Plant And Modeling Cultivation Of Small Chrysanthemum Morifolium Used In Landscape Architecture

Chrysanthemum morifolium,as one of the four cut flowers in the world as well as one of the top ten traditional famous flowers in China,has a high ornamental value.Combination potted plants and tree-like C.morifolium which are new kind of flower art,have been applied in the flower show layout,landscape and so on.In this research,according to comprehensive evaluation and analysis,and selection of cultivars,the combinations of potted chrysanthemum were preliminary established,and the technical parameters including cultivar selection,size of cutting stock,period of grafting,numbers of scions were compared.The main results were as follows:1.Comprehensive evaluation and analysis of 69 varieties of Zhongshan series were performed,and the parameters included growth characteristics(plant height,crown breadth,compactness,branches,roundness),ornamental characteristics(flower color,flower diameter,disc type,number of flowers,and length of flower internode)and adaptability(lodging resistance,numbers of lack).The analytic hierarchy process were used to establish the factors weights,comprehensive evaluation analysis,and construct evaluation criterion.By building a hierarchical structure model,the related characters were comprehensively analyzed,and the comprehensive scores and grades of cultivars were obtained ultimately.Then 12 better varieties were chosen.Those results provided the basis for the production,the promotion of chrysanthemum plants and landscape application.2.By comparing the color parameters of the selected 12 cultivars of Zhongshan series,16 combinations of potted plant were cultivated,such as combination of 'Zhongshan jinyang' and 'Zhongshan chiyan',combination of 'Zhongshan jinyang' and 'Zhongshan yungui',combination of 'Zhongshan guanghui' and 'Zhongshan chiyan',combination of'Zhongshan fufen' and 'Zhongshan zirui',combination of 'Zhongshan hanbai' and'Zhongshan zilian',etc.According to evaluation of plant height,crown amplitude uniformity,and consistency of evaluation of the two cultivars,five excellent potted combinations such as combination of 'Zhongshan jinyang' and 'Zhongshan chiyan' were chosen for usage in the production and promotion in the market.3.Based on infection rate of the grafted plants and the growth potential,combination of scions of 14 cultivars such as 'Zhongshan jinyang','Zhongshan guanghui' and'Zhongshan hanbai' and the stock of Artemisia annua were used for the test.As a result,'Zhongshan jinyang' and 'Peacock Flower' were the best scions,and the proper height and circumference of stock were 30 cm and 10 mm,respectively.Additional,grafting time from middle of April to the first ten-day period of May,and 2-3 scions for one stock had a best effect for ornamental value of tree-like C.morifolium,which could be used for standardized application and promotion of modeling C.morifolium.
