In recent years, with the rapid development of China's national economy and the acceleration of the pace of socialized construction, the consumption of wood in all walks of life in China is increasing, and the situation of wood resources in China is deficient,so the demand for wood in China is in short supply for a long time. The impact of the management process of timber forests on the environment, economy, and society is increasingly prominent,so the implementation of sustainable management and development of timber forests, and sustainability evaluation is an essential means to ensure excellent and rapid development of wood output.Based on the comprehensive and scientific guiding principles and the current management and development status of China's Pinus tabulaeformis plantations, this study selects the evaluation indexes of sustainable management of Pinus tabulaeformis timber plantations by using mathematical methods such as grey statistical method and analytic hierarchy process, and determines the weight values of each index layer and each index. Finally,a set of comprehensive evaluation index system including environment, economy, society, and management is constructed.Taking Huangtuliangzi forest farm in Pingquan,Hebei province as the research object, the sustainability evaluation and analysis of the current management of Pinus tabulaefolius plantation were carried out.The main research results are as follows:(1)Through reading a large number of related literature of China and abroad on forest resource sustainable theory, data, guided by the comprehensive, scientific, consistent and feasibility principle and give full consideration to the level of the relationship between various indicators, completed the environmental, economic, social and management four aspects content of 87 indicators of the evaluation index system of Pinus tabulaeformis artificial timber forest sustainable management.(2)Through a questionnaire survey of experts in related fields, according to the decision information feedback from experts, statistical analysis is conducted on the data using the gray statistics method, and 28 evaluation indexes are finally selected. The evaluation index system is divided into four layers from top to bottom:target layer, constraint layer,first-level index layer, and index layer. The weights of each index were calculated by using the scale method from 1 to 9 and the analytic hierarchy process, among which the weights of the social index were 0.351165,economic index 0.295084,business index 0.188957 and environmental index 0.164793.Thus,a complete evaluation index system has been established.(3)To Huangtuliangzi forest farm,Pingquan,Hebei province as a case study, use the established evaluation index system of Pinus tabulaeformis timber forest sustainable management evaluation, evaluation of the final score of 79.68,belongs to the medium to high level, and most of the index score value is higher,it shows that at present the growth condition of timber forest,Pinus tabulaeformis good management pattern and sustainability.(4)The evaluation results of the sustainable management of Pinus tabulaeformis plantation in Huangtuliangzi forest farm of Pingquan,Hebei province were analyzed and discussed, and suggestions for its future operation and development were put forward from the perspective of sustainable development according to the actual situation of local forest farms.Second, improve the efficiency of afforestation and reduce the production cost;hird, vigorously develop understory planting and advocate agroforestry combined management mode;Fourth, the long-term establishment of observation, evaluation system, scientific management.
