With the increasing demand for large-size container seedlings in urban landscape construction,there has been developed a new technology for large-size container seedlings in our country,which is to containerize large-size planting seedlings to grow into large-size container and make them have advantages of large-size container seedlings,but there is still a lack of sophisticated cultivation techniques in this process.This paper summarized the key technology system for the cultivation of large-size container seedlings through investigation,and took the containerized cultivation of Pinus armandii large-size seedlings as an example to analyze the influence of different substrate ratio and fertilizer amount on seedling growth in the cultivation of container seedlings to provide technical support for the development of large-size container seedling cultivation technology in China.The technology of seedling cultivation in large-size was discussed by consulting relevant materials and referring to previous research experience,visiting ONT Nursery and Hot Spring Nursery in spring and sununer,Dadongliu Nursery and other places,combining with the actual production situation of large-size container seedlings.Seedling substrate and fertilization are two important links in the process of container seedling cultivation,so Pinus armandii was selected as the experimental material and set three different substrate proportions and three different amounts of slow-release fertilizers to research the effect of large-size container seedlings on Pinus armandii.Evaluation index different from that of small-size container seedlings were adopted to evaluated seedling quality of large-size container seedlings of Pinus armandii as seedling morphology,leaf physiological indicators and the physical and chemical properties of substrate.Major conclusions include:A set of key technology system for seedling cultivation in large-size container was summarized in three parts containing tree species selection,cultivation material and technology to lead the technical development of large-size container seedlings in China.Substrate treatment can improve seedling morphology and physiology and is better than garden soil cultivation.The application amount of slow-release fertilizer is 5.0kg/m3 can both provide sufficient nutrients for the container seedlings of Pinus armandii,and remember to water the seedlings in time.As for the growth of large-size container seedlings could not be evaluated by dry weight,biomass and rooting number,seedling morphology,chlorophyll concentration,nitrogen content in seedling leaves and physicochemical properties of substrate can be used as evaluation indexes for large-size container seedlings.
