In this paper,108 Xanthoceras sorbifolium germplasm resources in arid and semi-arid regions were used as materials,5 growth indexes,11 anatomical structure indexes of leaves,12 stomatal structure characteristics indexes and 5 water use efficiency indexes were measured,and the drought resistance of 108 germplasm resources was evaluated by variance analysis,cluster analysis and fuzzy mathematics membership function analysis,etc.,so as to provide theoretical basis for breeding Xanthoceras sorbifolia germplasm resources in arid and semi-arid regions.The main results of the study are as follows:1.The measurement results of growth indexes of different germplasm resources were significantly different,among which 33 germplasm resources such as No.91,No.10,No.46,No.34,No.26,etc.grew well.The measurement results of leaf anatomical structure indexes of different germplasm resources are significantly different,among which 28 germplasm resources,such as No.78,No.32,No.71,No.103,No.43,etc.,have better adaptability to tissue structures.The measurement results of stomatal structure characteristics of different germplasm resources are significantly different,among which 31 germplasm resources,such as No.84,No.82,No.92,No.81,No.85,have better stomatal regulation ability.The results of water use efficiency analysis of different germplasm resources are significantly different,among which 16 germplasm resources such as No.78,No.23,No.107,No.41,No.84 have better water retention capacity and higher water use efficiency.2.Principal component analysis and other methods were used to obtain 10 representative indexes for drought resistance evaluation of Xanthoceras sorbifolia Bunge.The order of sensitivity was:stomatal density>grid-sea ratio>individual stomatal area>stomatal area index>tissue structure compactness>thickness of cuticle on upper epidermis>relative water content of leaves>specific leaf weight>?13C of leaves>crown width.3.Based on the fuzzy membership function analysis of 10 representative indexes of drought resistance of Xanthoceras sorbifolia high-quality germplasm resources,11 germplasm resources with strong drought resistance suitable for popularization and planting in arid and semi-arid areas were selected,with the drought resistance ranging from No.70>No.85>No.73>No.28>No.78>No.92>No.56>No.36>No.96>No.83>No.98.
