In recent years, the quality and safety incidents of agricultural products have occurred one after another. The quality and safety of agricultural products in the market has attracted great attention from the government and the society.Carya cathayensis,as one of the agricultural products,is one of the landmark products in Lin’an.Carya cathayensis is popular because of its combination of delicacy and nutrition. At the same time, the proportion of nuts in human dietary structure began to increase. With the increase of people’s income and the pursuit of safe agricultural products becoming more and more intense, the quality and safety of agricultural products has been widely concerned by the public. As a major production and planting area of hickory in China, how to ensure the quality and safety of hickory has become a focus issue.Farmers’ production behavior has an important impact on the quality and safety of agricultural products. The use of agricultural chemicals such as pesticides and fertilizers is an important factor to measure farmers’ safe production behavior. What factors will affect farmers’ use of pesticides and fertilizers? How do these factors affect the use of pesticides and fertilizers by farmers? To solve these problems is of great significance for standardizing the use of pesticide and chemical fertilizer, improving the production behavior of walnut growers, ensuring the safety and quality of walnut, and promoting the development of agricultural ecological civilization.Based on the behavior theory of peasant households, this study summarized the research results at home and abroad. On the basis of the analysis of the development status of hickory in Linan District,a questionnaire survey was conducted among the growers in four towns(Changhua,Tuankou,Daoshi,Longgang).Based on the sample data, the individual characteristics of household heads, household heads’ household characteristics, household heads’ perception of pesticides, fertilizer use and whether or not Participation in cooperatives, degree of training and location of six aspects, empirical analysis of hickory growers’ production behavior factors, summarize the problems in the production process, and put forward countermeasures and suggestions. The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly, the individual characteristics of the head of household significantly affect the safe production behavior of walnut growers. Most of the walnut growers are male, mostly older and less educated;while individual families operate on a smaller scale, male or younger family members with higher education are migrant workers, while women or older people are responsible for the management of walnut forests. In production, male production technology is more scientific, production behavior is more standardized,in the process of drug use is more cautious, the higher the level of education growers have a stronger sense of safety;second, the characteristics of household-headed households significantly affect the safe production behavior of walnut growers, relying mainly on the income of walnut farmers are more in pursuit of production, investment in agricultural chemicals will be more in pursuit of more.Great economic benefits while ignoring the safety of production.Farmers with village cadres in their families mostly take part in cooperatives or even hold positions in cooperatives,so they pay more attention to safety production and food quality issues, and play a leading role in safe planting.Thirdly, pesticide awareness and fertilizer use have a significant impact on the safe production behavior of hickory growers.Farmers with deep awareness of pesticide hazards pay more attention to the safety of agricultural products.Fourthly, whether or not to participate in cooperatives has a significant impact on the safe production behavior of hickory growers.Farmers participating in cooperatives are more scientific in information acquisition, planting technology learning and production management,so they will pay more attention to safety production issues, fully.Guarantee product quality. In addition, under the supervision of cooperative rules,to a certain extent,it is conducive to restraining farmers’ production behavior.Based on the above conclusions, the following policies and suggestions are put forward: firstly, the propaganda of Pecan production safety should be strengthened to cultivate the farmers’ awareness of production safety, and the farmers themselves should strengthen their study and improve their personal qualities;secondly, the village cadres and "peasant experts" should play a leading role in imparting advanced experience;thirdly, the government and associations should strengthen the popularization of safe drug use knowledge.Training and propaganda to improve farmers’ cognitive level;finally, promote the establishment of hickory cooperatives, guide and encourage hickory growers to actively participate in cooperatives.
