The fulfillment of social responsibility is the key symbol of the growth and maturity of enterprises.With the vigorous development of society and economy,the goal of corporate social responsibility has gradually evolved from maximizing shareholders’rights and interests to assuming social responsibility for stakeholders at all levels.Forestry is not only a basic industry,but also a public welfare undertaking.As a representative enterprise of forestry industry,listed forestry companies play a typical role in demonstrating and guiding sustainable and healthy development of forestry.On Sep.30,2018,the SFC first publicly revised the Listed Companies Governance Guidelines,which established the normative framework of environmental,social responsibility and corporate governance(ESG)information publicity,emphatically strengthened the leading role of Listed Companies in promoting environmental protection and social responsibility demonstration.Thus,it can be seen that the implementation of social responsibility is the primary goal of China’s forestry enterprises in the process of becoming bigger and stronger.Studying the influence of social responsibility of forestry listed companies on the competitiveness of enterprises has important theoretical and practical significance for improving the competitiveness of forestry listed companies.This paper reviews the academic status of social responsibility and enterprise compete-tiveness of forestry listed companies at home and abroad.On the basis of defining the relevant concepts,this paper chooses stakeholder theory,enterprise competitiveness theory,enterprise social responsibility theory and signal transmission theory as the basic theories for research,and analyses the general situation of China’s forestry listed companies in terms of environmental protection,public welfare,protection of stakeholders’rights and interests,and caring for employees,as well as the current performance results,existing problems and reasons.On this basis,combined with the internal and external constraints,this paper analyzed the theoretical relationship between the performance of social responsibility of forestry listed companies and their impact on the competitiveness of enterprises,discussed the direct and indirect impact of social responsibility of forestry listed companies on the competitiveness of enterprises,and put forward the hypothesis of this study,taking the relevant data of 25 listed forestry companies in China from 2010 to 2017 as an example.This paper verifies the research hypothesis and empirically analyses the impact of social responsibility on the competitiveness of forestry listed companies in China.The results show that the fulfillment of social responsibility of forestry listed companies has a positive impact on the competitiveness of enterprises,especially strategic social responsibility has a more significant impact on the competitiveness of forestry listed companies.Corporate image and managment ability of enterprises to asset use efficiency have a moderating effect on the relationship between them.Enterprise marketing ability and enterprise risk The management ability of control has no significant moderating effect on the relationship between them.Finally,on the basis of the research results,the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward from the aspects of implementing corporate social responsibility strategy,cultivating corporate social responsibility culture,creating corporate responsibility brand image,standardizing corporate responsibility information disclosure,and constructing social responsibility feedback mechanism,in order to improve the performance ability and awareness of social responsibility of forestry listed companies,and enhance corporate efficiency and competitiveness.
