The two-factor split-zone test design was carried out to study the different seeding rates of Alfalfa(Medicago sativa)in Ningxia Yellow River Irrigation Area(A1:13.5 kg·hm-2,A2:18 kg·hm-2,A3:22.5 kg hm’2)and row spacing(B1:Equal line 15 cm,B2:equal line 20 cm,B3:15 cm+15 cm+20 cm,B4:15 cm+25 cm).The effect of its configuration on the performance and forage quality,and comprehensive evaluation by principal component analysis and gray correlation method,The suitable seeding rate and its row spacing configuration provide a theoretical basis for improving the production performance and nutritional value of the alfalfa irrigation area.The main results are as follows:1.Under the seeding rate and row spacing configuration mode,the highest average plant height is A2B3(seeding rate:18kg·hm-2 row spacing:15 cm+15 cm+20 cm);the fastest growth pattern of four ticks is the seeding rate.13.5 kg·hm-2 and row spacing]5cm+15cm+20cm;there was significant effect between seeding rate and row spacing interaction on the number of branches(P<0.05),and the interaction with the largest number of branches which is 18 kg·hm-2 and row spacing]5 cm+15 cm+20 cm;seeding rate+row spacing interaction had significant difference on stem-to-leaf ratio,fresh-to-dry ratio and hay yield(P<0.05);the highest yield of alfalfa hay in 12 interactions was 18 kg·hm-2 and 15 cm+15 cm+20 cm.2.In the seeding rate+row spacing configuration mode,the A1B3 treatment had the maximum crude protein content.There was no significant difference among different treatment on acid detergent fiber,coarse ash and dry matter,and the difference between row spacing and seeding rate and row spacing pattern was significant(P<0.05).The increase of seeding rate and the relative feeding value(RFV)also showed an increasing trend.When the seeding rate was 22.5 kg·hm-2,the relative feeding value was the highest,and the difference of row spacing to RFV was not significant(P<0.05).The RFV content was the highest in the A3B2 interaction mode,and the lowest in the A1B2.The gray correlation evaluated of the production performance and nutritional quality of alfalfa,the results showed that 18 kg·hm-2 and 15 cm+15 cm+20 cm was the best,the seeding mode is suitable for Ningxia Irrigation area.
